Everything about Authentic Taste of Jamaica was amazing this evening!!! We stumbled across this delicious date night after reading Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. The service, food, and the opportunity to visit with the owner was awesome. Started off with a Red Stripe, beef patty, and Kingston wings and ended with jerk and curry chicken. The food was so good!! Thank you for a wonderful experience we will be back soon.
Why is this place not packed on a Saturday night? Owner and staff are amazing. Owner made sure I was happy cause I’m not a spice person. 100% recommend.
The Jerk fries, Curry Chicken, and Jerk chicken were all amazing!! Large portions and outstanding service were a bonus for my dining experience! I would recommend you get there early so you can enjoy your meal and conversations with the owner! If I could give it a 1000 I would! Great place!!

Based on reviews, Authentic Taste of Jamaica brings the island heat right to the heart of the Midwest. Everything from the Coco bread to the beef patties, curry and jerk chicken, to the plantains is delicious and spiced to perfection. The seasoning on the beans/peas & rice is truly medicine for the body AND the soul. The jerk chicken has perfect char and fantastic heat, and the brown stewed chicken is so tender it falls off the bone. Even the humble mac & cheese has a deep, white cheddar flavor. The sorrel is absolutely banging, and the rum runner is on point. The portion size, speed of service, quality, and value make customers keen on a return. The interior is inviting with plenty of seating and a wrap around bar, and there might be live music. The service is awesome, very welcoming and attentive. This is a gem that should be a draw for all over the KC area.
