Loved this place and would stop to eat when traveling through. Sadly they closed it this week.
One of best places I stopped
Charlie's Restaurant has a family-oriented, trucker vibe with friendly service and great food. The chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken are superb, and the fries are a favorite. The iced tea is good, and there's always coffee ready. The prices are reasonable, and the salad is a nice size. Although the restaurant isn't open 24 hours anymore, it still maintains its charm from the 80's. The cleanliness is commendable, but the truck stop bathroom could use some improvements. Overall, Charlie's is a wheelchair-accessible, down-to-earth eatery worth a visit for a tasty meal.
