“this place had such a cozy wind down vibe, perfect for a night cap or post dinner drink! they have a beautiful bar filled with records, jazzy music, and a bunch of 4 person tables inside. outside they have heaters and benches or tables and are able to seat a larger party.
we arrived around 8ish on a saturday night and it was packeddd. unfortunately they don't take reservations so the inside tables and outside tables were all in use when our party of 5 arrived. they were able to seat us at the outdoor fire area though. it was a chillier night so we sat pretty close to the fire and it was pretty smoky. they did provide a blanket outside though!
although we were seated basically completely away from the other tables and people, the servers were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. we ordered the dirty martini, all night company (banana espresso martini), femme fatal and the hoshi zora (the lavender matcha drink). the Hoshi Zora was my favorite! very smooth and despite the lack of color it has very good flavor, a little more expensive than i was expecting for the size of drink you get but i liked the vibes enough i would come back for special occasions.“

“Honestly, I was super excited for trivia here and dinner with an out of town friend, but the experience was unfortunately disappointing for our group. One friend ordered a Reuben and was given a turkey club instead, the turkey club I ordered had no turkey on it (literally none), and of the three people who ended up turkey clubs - the bread was completely different for every single sandwich. Another friend and I both got side salads, hers did not have the toppings but mine did. Just a lot of inconsistencies.“

“This place is one of the few bars I've been to that feels genuinely relaxing. The atmosphere is incredible with vintage decor, there's often live music from touring and local musicians, and ample space to sit and talk. The staff is fast, friendly, and kind. It's a must visit in KC. Can't say enough great things about this please, the list is endless.“

“Thank you for making my birthday special. On June 1st, 2026 I sat at the bar with my son for my birthday dinner. I had surgery 2 weeks prior and had a strict diet…ugh! “My wife and I’ve been coming to the drum room for decades. We really love this fun hotel bar with a ton of history. Our latest adventure transpired on Easter weekend 2026.
We encountered a lovely bartender by the name of Jennifer, who was super kind and helped us do a little tasting of some different spirits we were interested in.
And she crafted our usual cocktails deftly. She even gave us a tip on how to get into another restaurant that we wanted to snag a reservation for.
Jennifer’s great service was appreciated and very well regarded by my wife and me.
We look forward to another good afternoon or evening at the Drum Room soon.“

“Truly incredible meal. We went for a special occasion and had two amazing filets. Cannot recommend the Filet Pierpont enough. The Zinfandel soaked figs….chefs kiss. The cocktails as well- any of the old fashioned drinks, can’t go wrong. Don’t miss out on the corn and crab bisque either. An experience! We also had a very accommodating waiter, Zach, who made the the whole night memorable. We hope to visit again when we’re back in town. Thank you!!!“

“The vibes of Nighthawk are great. It’s a very fun place to go to end a night out with some moody lighting and live music. Only downside is their seltzer options. They only have their own house made seltzers and the ones my group tried really just tasted like a mix of fake sugar and perfume. Would much rather have just a high noon or even a local KC Quirk! They do have a full bar so I would honestly suggest just getting something else to drink while you enjoy the music and ambiance!“

“Easy to get in and met your host to get you set up in your private party room! The karaoke is easy to use to select song requests using your phone. Our host got us instructions on how to use it, brought us water and any drink orders. Fun place to go with friends! No appetizers were available, so be prepared to eat beforehand. We were allowed to bring in our cupcakes for our Birthday girl, so that was great.“

“I planned on proposing to my now fiancé on the patio here with the igloos on it. When I called them, they were so helpful! They went above and beyond to make sure that the special moment was captured just right for us. The staff here is absolutely amazing!!!!“
