“I think I saw an ad for Yafa Cafe on Facebook. We are always searching for good Mediterranean food, it's hard to find in Kansas City. Seeing Kibbeh on the menu automatically moved them to the top on the list. We really enjoyed our meals and appetizers! The kibbeh was good, the spanakopia was good. All of our meals were good. I really enjoyed the creamy chicken plate. The chicken shawarma was good. Everyone liked the kabobs (chicken and beef). We will definitely be back! The owner and employees were very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!“

“We had a great experience at CAVA! The spicy lamb meatballs were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of heat. My wife had the garlic chicken with rice, and it was just as delicious—tender, well-cooked, and full of Mediterranean spices. The quality of the food remains excellent, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared.

However, we did notice that the portion sizes have gotten smaller compared to last time we visited . While the flavors are still top-notch, a little more quantity would have made it even better. That said, the service was great, with three people attending to us efficiently, and the restaurant was well-maintained. Still one of our favorite Mediterranean spots!“

I want to like this place because Mediterranean cuisine is some of my favorite food

I have been to this place a few times. But not recently. I think it's going through an ownership change or management change. The menu I was familiar with, shawarma & lamb etc. dishes are still there.

New this visit was a separate Moroccan menu. Having had Moroccan food elsewhere I was excited to try and was not disappointed with the lamb tagine which came served with this huge Moroccan salad included. The salad was arranged beautifully around a patch of hummus . It included what you would expect plus some grilled veggies . The lamb was served in a typical Moroccan covered dish. The cover was whisked away by the waiter upon serving, revealing a lamb dish prepared with hard boiled eggs, prunes, sitting in the pool Moroccan spiced juices Food 5/5 ⭐

I stopped in for a very early dinner (for me it was actually a very very late lunch). On arrival the place was practically empty due to the hour. I walked up to the counter & I was just stared at so I thought I'd ask if they were serving & could I have a table & they pointed to a bunch of tables that were open so I sat myself. Okay, so maybe not the warm friendly Midwest vibe that we're accustomed to 🤔

Soon the male server showed up with the menus. We managed to communicate even though his English language skills were very limited. I told myself this is a plus cuz it means it's authentic 😏

Ultimately after consultation, I went for a pot of Moroccan hot tea which I never received. Never got water either come to think of it.

On my visit, there were only men (3 - 4) working in the restaurant They must have been tired or had a very busy day cuz they spent the entire time I was there sitting at a table conversing. Unfortunately with the loud TVs in the background & the fact that they were speaking their native tongue, I don't know what they were talking about - best guess soccer err... futbol

I finished most of my delicious meal. It was definitely filling. It was also served with a side of Moroccan bread.

When I sat at the table I noticed they had a plate, a glass & some condiments on the table. When I tried moving some of those items the plastic covered tablecloth was sticking to everything. I don't know if that was because of whatever chemicals they were using or they needed better cleaning methods. The whole vibe was wow! They're really taking this authentic thing to the next level. I felt like I was visiting a 3rd world country without having to spend thousands of dollars

I'm going to wait a month, I'm definitely not quite ready to cross this one off my list cuz the food was so good. Hopefully they'll add some females to the staff as they've had in the past cuz I think they do a slightly better job in terms of customer service. And maybe use a different cleaning product - I recommend soapy water with vinegar“

“I order on the app a lot, this is one a of my go to places for a filling nutritious meal cant count how many times I’ve been. Generous portions and delicious Mediterranean flavors. Pretty consistent, bowl is usually packed full and always delicious.“

“So glad we came across this hidden GEM!, Amir Mediterranean. The food was fabulous, my daughter and I had the Steak kabob platter and the Gyro platter, which came with lentil soup, salad, hummus and baba ghanoush. The owner, TK was so fun and he let us sample the Turkish tea and the Baklava, everything was so delicious, we ate all of it!!!! We definitely will be back.“

It was a little busy, which is always a good sign, but we scored a sidewalk table and that is totally my vibe. The Baba falafel on pita was absolutely soul satisfying. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and made with love.

Inside, the decor is beyond charming. Whoever designed the space clearly knows how to mix color and texture with personality. Honestly, I want them to come decorate my house next.
