“My husband and I stopped in late last night and had the best Mediterranean food we've had in the KC area. The only thing to make it better was the people working. we had a chance to meet the owner and his mother and everyone was so welcoming and charming. We live by the airport, but this is my new hummus supplier because it's THAT good! We will be back and we will bring our friends.“
“we came across this restaurant on our date night..it was so good!! from the moment we walked in we were very welcomed. The staff was so sweet and helpful. The food was delicious, and the presentation was awesome too! I enjoyed it so much. We love about 45 mins plus away but will definitely be back.“
“Every time we eat at Meddy’s it’s an amazing experience. The staff are always so friendly, kind and helpful. The food has always been amazing and the pita while you wait is an extra bonus! Also love the patio with the live music. Will continue to return!“
“Stopped there on the way home one day while visiting my kids and really enjoyed the food and the ambiance!! Wasn't too busy and the system that the have when ordering your food works well even though it's crowded. The food was excellent“
“Ok!!!! If you're a fan of Mediterranean Cuisine you are foolish if you don't go here and check these lovely people out....The food is flavorful, very well done in traditional Mediterranean style.Seasoned beautifully. They are warm and friendly. The place is clean... pricing is very reasonable. Just went hear for my first time. I had driven by it before and I always wondered.... I immediately called my son and told him there's a new Mediterranean place we have to go to. Looking forward to coming back..... Bravo!!!!“
“This is one of the few restaurants with a warm and welcoming design. It is truly beautiful. Everyone who put a hand in it should be proud.I am so glad to have Baba's Pantry in Kansas City. It's one of the best places. I always experience kindness no matter who is working.I just tried the Chicken Shawarma and get the hype. The stuffed falafel and Babas Kebob are also awesome. Everything in the cold case is glorious and fun to bring to a party. I always add Shatta on the wrap because the slow burn is perfect. The wrap is my favorite form of their sandwiches. The fries are killer. The portions are enough for 2 reasonable meals or 1 huge one and I like it that way.I hope they continue to persist as long as it feels good for them. Thanks for what you bring to us today.“
“Great! Here's a sample review:The atmosphere is warm and the staff is very friendly made great recommendations. The food was exceptional - I tried the lamb chops and it was bursting with flavors and super tender. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mediterranean cuisine. 5 stars and can't wait to go back!“
“When I went here when Kari's first opened I was pretty disappointed, but I'm glad I gave them time to start their new business and another try a year later! This time the chicken shawarma was delicious, the baba ganoush was delicate and packed with flavor, their lentil soup was beautifully spiced. The pita was soft, with olive oil and zaatar, and the falafel was pretty good too. The atmosphere was great and the service was lovely! Make sure to try their special lemonades!Currently the best middle eastern on W39th!Vegetarian options: Falafel sandwich, lentil soup, baba ganoush, dolma, hummus, pita and more“
“I Just Enjoyed the #BEST Gyro in the City of Milwaukee...I highly recommend the #GreekFreak meal and the Greek Fries were delicious as well ?????? #TwoThumbsUp 4 sure...The owner was Pleasant&Professional which I most certainly appreciate.?#TheLEONARDS“
“Dropped in for a late lunch on Saturday and had a wonderful experience. Karim and the other staff were helpful and attentive. Great service and great food everyone we’ve been. Had the kebab sandwich with beef sirloin and it’s a new fave!“
“Great little spot. We picked up a few chicken gyros that were delicious and very reasonably priced! The falafel was amazing. The market itself has food items and produce for quick shopping. Definitely will be coming back again whenever I want a gyro fix!“
“Had a great experience trying Nick the Greek for the first time! I perused the menu before going in so I knew exactly what I wanted to order. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro with fries and a drink. Everything got to me in a reasonable time and was absolutely hot and fresh. The gyro itself was loaded with meat and I loved their tzatziki sauce. This is where my one complaint comes from though but it is personal preference. If you like a lot of sauce I would ask for extra. I can never have enough of the tzatziki The fries were really good and had a good seasoning on them. I will say too, one order is enough for two people! I want to try the Greek fries next time which has feta! I will definitely be back again!“
“this is the 2nd time we have been here each time we have been here the burgers are the best we have ever eaten, they were seasoned perfectly, you can here the burgers sizzling on the flames as they cook them, they are hands down the best burgers and sides we have ever “
“Amazingly great food that is out of this world. Definitely for the major foodie at heart. Didn’t get the baklava cause we were told kitchen was closed…. Not mad as we had dessert elsewhere but coming from an industry employee the last course in service should also be the last station to close in the kitchen. The meal itself was fantastic and everything i could have wanted which is why i was very disappointed i was able to try the dessert. Oysters were delicious, ribeye seasoned and cooked to perfection, bone marrow melts in your mouth, cauliflower that take your love for the veggie to another level. Craft cocktail menu is a true craft cocktail menu not like most other restaurants want to be craft menus.“
“Food is beyond amazing! Their hummus and BABAGANUSH dip is to die for! I love the mixed grilled vegetable plate and find myself craving it all the time! This place can become like your family they are so friendly!Vegetarian options: I am vegetarian myself so I love coming here! Their roasted vegetable plate on their lunch menu I crave all the time!!!!!! Their hummus and BABAGANUSH dip is the best I have ever had and I find myself ordering takeout from this amazing place 2-3 times a week !Kid-friendliness: My boys found something they said they totally approved of coming back to this delicious place! Two thumbs up!!!!!“
“Came here twice and have loved every experience. The first time was obviously on a walk home after some drinks. We ordered the lamb/beef combo gyro and chicken tenders with fries. All was tasty, fresh, and hot. Pita bread was soft, and lamb/beef was seasoned and cooked to par.The second time, I strolled in at midnight and ordered a lamb/beef combo with fries.Fries both times were fresh and best yet unsalted. Gyro was just as good as first time. These guys are on par with Jerusalem Cafes truck.Edit- 3rd visitPhilly cheese steak was really good, but not enough portion to justify price.“
“Due to its location, it tends to be full of drunks at night. But the food is good and most importantly, cheap.Parking: Parking get pretty hectic and chaotic the later it gets.Kid-friendliness: Not a place to have kids. It's mostly great just for pickup orders you have already placed in advance.“
“Stopped in because my nose could tell it was nearby. It didn't disappoint! The appetizer sample plate was a perfect lunch and you can't get that kind of food anywhere else than a place like this. Well done! Service was on point, very kind and perfectly attentive.“
“The hummus and grape leaves are the best I’ve ever had. I wish I could give 7 stars. I also had the falafel, babganoush, bread, salad and sautéed veggies. Everything was wonderful but that hummus, y’all! The people working there were very friendly, the food was pretty as well as delicious! As a vegetarian I really appreciate the quality and selection of the vegetarian and vegan options. The decor was very pleasing; the walls were covered in dozens of small, beautiful, unique canvasses each depicting a colorful scene, landscape, still life, etc; that connects to the cultures of Mediterranean region who’s people have given the world, among other things, this delicious cuisine. It had a homey feel that I really enjoyed. A+ experience. I will be returning soon!Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, sautéed veggies, Mediterranean salad, babganoush, dolma, pita.Dietary restrictions: I’m a vegetarian and the options here are wonderful!Parking: Parking was a non-issue.“
“We dined in and had great service and a delicious lunch. We had been there many a time and would definitely keep going!!Vegetarian options: A great salad with delicious dressing. Their pita bread was so very delicious.Dietary restrictions: I could not eat some of the items as they were not good for me.“
“Food and service were outstanding. I went there for lunch with a friend and we both loved it. The chicken and beef kabobs were delicious as was the chicken leg. Curries were flavorful. Owner was great to talk to. I would definitely recommend!!“
“If you want THE BEST Jordanian / Middleeastern food, go here! Absolutely amazing! It tastes like the food does in the middleeast, made by mama. We ordered the mixed combo meat and rice plate and the lamb with dehydrated yogurt. The meat on the rice was so moist and tender it melted like butter in your mouth, which is not an easy fete to achieve. The rice was perfectly seasoned and all the herbs and spices together made it the best thing I've eaten in a long time....then the next dish arrived....and Wow! The yogurt!!!! I could have taken a bath in that delicious fatty goodness. It tasted healing as it went down. That's all I can say. And while my husband loves lamb, it's not my forte. However, this lamb was seasoned so perfectly, and with the rice and yogurt Sauce... I couldn't get enough. I LOVED IT! As I admired the amazing Baklava display to decide which pastries to purchase, the owner, the Queen herself, introduced herself and gave us some complimentary Baklava....homemade by her. She shared how all her food was homemade and her mother's recipes and simply the way she has cooked all her life. Incredible! You can tell the food is made with love. You taste it in every grain. I forgot to mention the soothing herbal tea we ordered as well. Outstanding. Perfect balance of flavor and fruitiness. The seating area is very comfortable and the place very well decorated. We will definitely be back. I gave service a 4 out of 5 only because the young man who waited on us seemed new and inexperience, perhaps also a language barrier. But this was overshadowed by an amazing overall experience.Kid-friendliness: We brought our 2 littles and they were welcomed warmly.“
“I'm not from the area, but was passing through this area to visit family. I have always loved Greek food, though it's very limited where I'm from in SoCal..a friend recommended to try Mr. Gyros. I got the Gyro Plate and I cannot describe how good it was! I am so so happy I went! Wish I could take Mr. Gyros back to Cali with me because it was THAT delicious! The Marines back where I'm at would be lined up! If you haven't tried Mr. Gyros, you are missing out!“
“My favorite middle eastern restaurant. Nationally recognized and delicious lentil soup, great baba ganoush, nice hummus with a green chili sauce, good dolmas, etcThe Jasmine's combo is hard to miss. The cauliflower zahra is also quite good.Great options whether you're looking for some veg fare or not.Features: Dining in is open.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian and vegan friendly dishes. They generally know what you mean when you order vegan. They will make the Jasmine's Vegetarian Combo vegan - by removing the feta and Krass Pastry and adding a little extra of something else.Really good Middle Eastern food, on par with Holy Land Cafe.“
“If you been for the Tasso's wine tasting you are missing out. It happens the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.Five courses, five wine pairing, live music and belly daning, all for $50 pp, it is a great deal. The chef creates a new menu each moth and you can usually preview the menu on the website under Upcoming Events about a week out.It is a reservation thing so make yours today.“
“All the ingredients were fresh and nicely seasoned. I liked that I could create my own bowl combination. My only complaint is that the falafel was not fresh, hot, and crispy.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetables, rice, lentils, and falafel.“
“Despite all the bad jokes and movie one liners about "gas station food" Papou makes it work. This Mediterranean restaurant is located in the convenience store of a small gas station and the food is really good. The gyros are hot and tasty what do you have as a sandwich, or with a side of rice. I especially enjoyed their falafel sandwiches, because it's hard to find falafel in the Kansas City area. People are always friendly and there's a few tables to sit and eat quietly.“
“Came in today just on a whim. I've had Mediterranean but it's not my go-to so I thought to mix it up and this was in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the food.I started with a cup of Lentil soup. It was flavorful and subtle at the same time. I would definitely order a bowl next time.Following up, I ordered a gyro with a side of basmati. The gyro overall was good, but the taste of their sauce was a little too subtle than what I've had in the past. I also can't be too sure, but the cut of the lamb didn't seem fresh off the wheel like I've had before. It was good, but I did ask for a small side of tzatziki and tahini for extra pop. Basmati was good as well but I ended up using some of the tahini on that as well for some added flavor.I ended the meal with their assorted dessert plate to sample everything they had. The Ballourie (the thing that looks like a pair of Twix) was my favorite overall. Followed by the Burma Pistachio, which kind of tasted like sunflower seeds wrapped in shredded wheats, covered in honey; oddly delicious. The least, but still good, was the Baklava, which was a little too crunchy and not as tasty as the others. I'd order the assortment again, but I'd say one plate is good for one person, rather than to be shared. Now I will comment that even though the crew was nice, they were also not always present. I believe they must have been running a skeleton crew because the front person was also running to the kitchen to cook. That being said, this is definitely one of those places that feels more like an "order at the counter and eat at the table" sort of spot, rather than a full service. All the same, kind staff and was attentive with water and bussing when in eyesight. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop in again. Happy and well fed ?“
