“Recommended by a friend, I stopped in while driving back to Joplin. I chose a ham sandwich and they asked if it was okay if the fresh ham was still warm? Still warm?! Yes! Just wheat bread cheese lettuce and ham. I don't eat pie and there was fresh peach pie or cobbler? on the counter. I bought that too. The ham sandwich did not require condiments. I would have had just a plate of ham if I had known how good it was. I also ate the pie. It was so GOOD!”

I will eat there every time I come to Columbus, Kansas This place was recommended by many locals also. The best sign of good food in how many locals go there and it was very busy with them.”

“We stopped by here today to show our kids the Cars and gas station. Our (almost 2 year old) son is obsessed with cars! He had so much fun. I below they were closed but just happened to be there when we stopped by and they STILL ran inside and got my kids some stickers and stamps to take home. Will definitely be back when they are open!”

Across the board comfort food with THE BEST salads. A Great Rt 66 place to stop for a break. Oh and don’t forget the homemade pies ….to die for! Back room for large groups too.”

“Red Onion Cafe has done an amazing job of making the situation of my wife's knee replacement surgery and overnight hospital confinement a much easier experience. The wonderful staff has gone above and beyond to provide food, not only for my wife's in room meals, but those of mine and my daughter. The food was delicious, every Red Onion employee was extremely helpful, and Red Onion's presence had a positive effect on the entire atmosphere of the hospital.
Every employee I dealt with put forth extra effort to make certain I was well cared for. When I ordered my first meals I was given a coupon for a discount on my next order and had had difficulty applying the coupon code in my phone app when ordering the evening meals. My cashier went to great lengths to make certain that the discount was applied when I completed the purchase. After returning to my wife's room where her evening meal had already been brought to her, I was giving my daughter her part of the food and the employee who had taken my order knocked on the door with some more of my food that I had inadvertently left behind in the Cafe. I am tremendously grateful to Red Onion for their excellent service and I really appreciate all they did for us.”

“In the past this location has had a lot of trouble maintaining the location, for the last month or so They have two New girls that are Keeping it really clean, neat, Anna was our lady who made our sandwiches, best i have had at any Subway, I just wanted to give you all a shout out, this girl is management material, shes good at her job, A raise is in store, or shell likely find better jobs, People notice good help!”

“My wife and I love staying at this Hotel/Casino, we try to go 2-4 times a year. Hotel rooms always clean and everyone from front desk staff to housekeeping are always nice. Casino is always pretty clean, sometimes it takes a while to get a drink at the tables but this is all dependent on time & day, dealers are always helpful in finding someone. Always seem to have a good variety of table games open & my wife always enjoys the variety of slots. Biggest plus to this place (besides gambling) is has a great center bar & also their is good evening bands/ entertainment on the weekends at the casino sports bar area. This place has good food also and just an all around good/fun atmosphere. (Limited menu since Covid but still good) Snack/deli place is decent too, only eaten at buffet for breakfast which was good and few years ago ate at steakhouse which was good but not worth the money in my opinion & I like good steaks. Overall this is a fun, great place to visit and we have always had good experiences in both hotel and casino over the past 4-5 years. Hard to find weekend rooms this summer but we got booked a Saturday- Monday trip beg. of June, Excited to return!”
