La Casita | Mexican Restaurant - Salina

Rather expensive, but get want you want a la carte to fix that. Quick service to order and plate.

This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I wouldn’t even categorize it as Mexican, honestly.

We started with the Queso which wasn’t bad, but wasn’t good, either. The chips lacked salt. The salsa tasted very tomato based - more like ketchup than authentic salsa. Our main meals were chicken, rice, and queso with a side of tortillas. My spouse added steak to his and it came with 5 or so pieces, so definitely wasn’t worth an increase in price. The rice was mushy, the chicken reminded me of the frozen Tyson strips you can get at the grocery, and the queso was room temp so it just added to the overall mush of the meal. We didn’t finish our plates.

The staff is great though! This spot just wasn’t up to our standards for it to be referred to as a Mexican restaurant.

I usually don’t post bad reviews but this place deserves it.

This place came recommended but now I am seriously doubting my peers. I should have walked out as soon as I walked in.

Do you like ketchup and chips? If so, try the chips and salsa!

The Chile Relleno was wrapped in a Waffle House omelette and filled with nuclear yellow Velveeta-like cheese. There was no sauce but instead it was covered in shredded lettuce, a sprinkle of tomato and less onions. They offered a choice of ground beef or chicken on the Chile Relleno. I chose chicken thinking I am getting marinated and shredded chicken - nope, literally chopped Sysco grilled chicken. On the outside, totally flavorless.

If I could give the food 0 ⭐️'s, I would! We ordered 3 different dishes and they were all bad. The chips and chimichanga tasted like old, well used oil. The dining room was very dirty as well. The only thing positive I have day is that the management did try to make it right and handled the situation appropriately, to which I am grateful.

This place has - HANDS DOWN - the BEST enchiladas I've ever had in my life. They dip the tortillas in their ancho chile sauce before cooking and they are to die for!! 5.9/5 stars!! Just try them - you won't be disappointed.

We were traveling through Salina, and came upon this absolute gem of a restaurant. The food was perfect, tasty, truly wonderful. The vegetables were fresh, the flavors were distinct and complex. The service was attentive, and thoughtful. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant. They serve the best Mexican food I have found in Kansas.

I will start by saying I am not from Salina. Here for work and wanting to try recommended places in this town.
the pros: service was great. The pan fried taco shell is delicious.
Okay now the cons: food was not good... The chilli con queso is basically tomato soup. Do not order it unless you like tomato soup. I got the taco special. I love pan fried tacos. I got ground beef and chicken. Both had no seasoning at all. Very very bland. I had to throw a bunch of salsa (which tasted like ketchup) and salt on it. I got a lime margarita. Not good, and my friends got flavored ones. Not good.
I do not recommend this place for Mexican food. There are better ones in the area....

Food was far from authentic Mexican. It was honestly pretty bad and I would not stop here again Service was great though and waitress was attentive. Music was more authentic than the food.

From the moment I walked in, I noticed that the staff was not Latino, which made the restaurant feel less authentic. The food was served cold and did not meet my expectations. I ordered a chicken salad without cheese, but it still came with cheese. Overall, I did not have a good experience and would not personally recommend this restaurant.
