“This is a very underrated spot. Ppl probably pull in and pull out because it looks like an abandoned building with an auto shop behind it. But don't judge a book by its cover! I've had 3 different plates from here, and all were 10/10. The staff are very nice. The servers were extremely attentive. The hibiscus drink was amazing, too. I work down the street and I've passed this place everyday for 4 years and never knew it was there until I googled places near me to eat and it popped up and was shocked it was so close. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend eating here. Try the onion based dish with marinated chicken. The spices are next level.“

“The pastries were excellent!! They clearly sell out fast - we visited twice and the first day we showed up an hour after opening to a very limited remaining selection. The croissants had excellent flavor and a really nice textural contrast between the exterior and interior. I tried a number of pastries and think a must-try is the artichoke croissant. We had both flown in from 2 different states for a couple of attractions. After the Salmon we finished off a huge slice of Carrot Cake. The best I have ever had. “Taj Mahal has the best flavor on their chicken tikka masala in the tri-state area. Order the 2nd hottest heat level and you will be so happy. It is just the right amount of heat, but more importantly the DEPTH of the spices is very flavorful and savory. Many places in the area just throw in more chili powder at the higher heat levels. Taj Mahal adds more heat as well as anuthentic Indian spices. 10/10 😁“

“SUCH a cute gem in madisonville! Great coffee and bakery. They have an outdoor courtyard and patio, and they allow pets! I’ve brought my cat on a harness and leash multiple times and they are so welcoming.“

“Benson Paige is a pup who has lived in a shelter for a whole year. Today is his last day on earth since he is being humanely euthanized tomorrow. A foster took him out and spent some time at Bloc, so benson got to finally cuddle up on a couch. He finally got to eat a whole plate of eggs, a plate of bacon and experience the good life- something he never got to experience before. Stevie the lead barista was incredibly kind and compassionate over the phone with me while I tried to coordinate getting benson a special treat and helped me make sure the foster & benson were taken care of and that he got to experience love. “From someone out of town, based in Chicago, me and my partner had a great night at Tillie's. We went to a couple other gay bars in the area and this was, by far, our favorite. The owner was there and was super friendly. Service was quick and also very nice. The crowd at this bar beat the crowds at the other bars, more inviting and felt welcoming. “1215 is one of the best coffee shops I’ve had the pleasure of frequenting, and I make it a habit to go here at least once a week. It’s in the heart of OTR and is super convenient for anyone in that area. I’m on a first name basis with the baristas and ordering food/coffee from them feels less transactional and more human. They sell Deeper Roots coffee which is top notch, and I could drink their house blend for the rest of my life. They have a really solid selection of teas too. The place is not at all pretentious, and has a regular clientele that is relaxed and friendly - and the place is bustling but not too busy. The music they play is at the right volume and is well-curated - Americana, folk, 2000s indie, soft rock, blues. Around 5-6pm the coffee shop vibe slowly turns into a romantic and cozy wine bar with live music on some nights. The flowers on the tables are replaced by candles and the lights are dimmed. While I’m usually busier in the evenings, this tempts me to stay all day. Fantastic place that I cannot recommend enough!“

I had the quesadilla and tacos — both were packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and what really stood out was the service.
