“How good are these you ask? While letting my empanadas cool I turned my back for five seconds and turned around to an empty plate. “Odd…” I thought, as I was the only one home at the time. And then I heard it, the sound of my dog scarfing down steaming hot empanadas! I called my dog a lot of names this day, with words I typically try not to use… in English and Spanish! Once the dog had cleared the crime scene I looked at what was left and tried to remember the specifics of the 5 second rule and its subsection on dog slobber. Ultimately I determined the entirety of my meal a loss. But they’re good enough I seriously considered it!“

“Chat GPT had directed us here on Saturday the 4th. The food was great! My son and I each had the Salmon with Sweet Potato fries. We had both flown in from 2 different states for a couple of attractions. After the Salmon we finished off a huge slice of Carrot Cake. The best I have ever had. Annie M was very attentive, kind and had a very happy face. For everyone, actually. I just wanted to say how pleased and surprised we were with how good everything was. “SUCH a cute gem in madisonville! Great coffee and bakery. They have an outdoor courtyard and patio, and they allow pets! I’ve brought my cat on a harness and leash multiple times and they are so welcoming.“

“Benson Paige is a pup who has lived in a shelter for a whole year. Today is his last day on earth since he is being humanely euthanized tomorrow. A foster took him out and spent some time at Bloc, so benson got to finally cuddle up on a couch. He finally got to eat a whole plate of eggs, a plate of bacon and experience the good life- something he never got to experience before. Stevie the lead barista was incredibly kind and compassionate over the phone with me while I tried to coordinate getting benson a special treat and helped me make sure the foster & benson were taken care of and that he got to experience love. “Found this little gem tonight. If you haven’t been…GO! I believe it is currently just take out or delivery, but take out was all we needed. First the lady who greeted me at the door was cute as a button and just as sweet! I ordered the sesame chicken, golden noodles, and crab puffs to bring home for dinner. “Tillie’s Lounge is one of our favorite establishments in the city! This bar manages to strike a balance that most can’t... it’s polished and well-decorated enough to avoid the “dive bar” label, yet still feels relaxed, homey, and completely unpretentious.

Drink prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere invites you to settle in and stay awhile. The bartenders are incredibly warm and kind. Special shoutout to Randy, Vince and Luna for consistently providing excellent service! The establishment is always clean, and the restroom upkeep is especially commendable, considering how tough it can be to maintain single-stall facilities in a busy bar environment.

Tillie’s hosts a variety of fun, themed events that showcase diverse and talented performers. We especially love their brunches and open stage nights—they’re always lively, inclusive, and full of great energy.

There’s a true sense of community and camaraderie among the regulars, yet newcomers are always made to feel welcome. The crowd is friendly but never overbearing, which adds to the overall charm.
