This is an incredible hidden gem right outside UK campus! I love that it’s a family run Haitian restaurant! The food is so flavorful and delicious; the staff were so helpful and welcoming!
Parking is a little challenging due to the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings, but there’s a connected parking lot so my wife and I found parking!
She said it best when she told the server: “Your food feels like a hug for my stomach!”

Le Gourmet is a highly praised restaurant known for its authentic Haitian cuisine. Customers frequently highlight the freshness, flavor, and care put into each dish. Menu favorites include diri djondjon, griot, macaroni, akra, bannan peze, and pikliz, all described as delicious and authentically made, with flavors that feel comforting and homemade. The food is slow-cooked and free from processed ingredients, offering a genuine taste of Haitian cooking. The restaurant's atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly and attentive staff, and the owner is especially appreciated for creating a warm dining experience.
While the decor is considered sufficient, some reviewers note that prices are fairly high for the quality, particularly for the sides. The drink selection includes a large stock of alcohol, but cocktails are not regularly offered, suggesting a possible focus on private events. Overall, Le Gourmet is regarded as a great place to enjoy flavorful, well-prepared food in Lexington, particularly for those seeking Haitian dishes or Caribbean cuisine, which remains rare in the area. Many reviewers plan to return to try more dishes, emphasizing the restaurant's authentic flavors and friendly service.
