“On Bardstown rd. The picture does not do justice on how much food you get. Spiced but not too spicy and the chicken tasted great. Couple notes: drinks are water, mango and Bassel?( I know I spelled that wrong) and 2. Little bit of a lauguage barrier. Friendly and food arrived in just a few minutes. Will be going again.“

“Can't rate the dine in experience yet since we got delivery. The food was delicious! We got Peri Peri chicken, and the goat stew with chakery for dessert and jollof rice sides. The rice was excellent, the best I've had and I loved the chicken. It was a little bit too spicy for my husband but he's got to deal imo. He survived and so will you, the chakery was a great palate cooler! Will definitely be getting food from them again.“

“The food here is so fresh, so flavorful and just an amazing experience. The staff are kind and take time to explain things so dont worry if youve never had somalian food before. I ordered chicken legs and chicken kofta one with rice and one with spaghetti. They both come with fresh cooked veggies and the rice came with a spinach and bean side in a cup that was sooooo good. I recommend the rice over the spaghetti because its so fragrant, seasoned right and came with that extra side. The food was so yummy like you went to someones house and ate, super authentic which is the best for places like this. The chickem was so tender it literally came away with a plastic fork and its was so juicy. I also highly recommend the mango lassi its was sweet, creamy and refreshing. And like with most authentic Somali places the meals came with a banana and a bottle of water. Will definately be back to try more!“

Sanag Halal Grocery & Restaurant African • $

“Halal grocery/restaurant. If the guys already there at a table didn’t yell back to the kitchen that a customer wanted to order, I might never have been treated to one of the finer meals I’ve had in a while. I ordered chapati with chicken meat. Two wonderful, thick chewy chapati, with basically like a chicken fajita plate, a bowl of greens, beans, corn, and carrots, and a lettuce, tomato, green bell pepper, lime salad plate, served with an unpeeled banana, and bottle of water. Couple hot sauce options. I was thinking it was a lot of food for the $12 on the menu. Indeed, the meal ended up being $16. We had some miscommunication, but he was patient and friendly enough; no big deal. Will return!“
