What a wonderful experience! When you arrive, you mingle with the other guests for a few minutes before dinner. Seating is family style with everyone around the same table. As an introvert I was afraid I wouldn't like this, but it turned out to be lovely! Talking with everyone was so much fun. Dinner itself was absolutely delicious. Honest to goodness, the best food I've eaten in a long time time. Everything was wonderfully flavored, and cooked to perfection. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice evening out.

Lovely experience, feels homey and fun. Great food, both the regular dishes and those they added for people with special dietary restrictions. The family style serving was a good social touch and seemed much less wasteful than a portion that may be too big or small for each guest. Excellent wine pairings, too. Worth every penny.

Absolutely one of a kind experience, feels like being transported to Italy. Chef Gina went above and beyond to cater to some unique dietary needs for our group. Sad to hear it is closing!

Gina not only cooks and runs a restaurant, she has been able to bring Italy to Louisville. And dining here was not only about food (that is more than delicious!!), is sharing an evening with other people in a warm and super friendly atmosphere: personally, I felt like I was back in Italy, invited to a family reunion at my grandmother's house!

Tonight was by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had!! It was great surprising my husband to his 60th birthday with new friends!!! I only wish we had discovered it sooner!!!!!!! I am truly sad that she is closing her doors! I hope we are able to take one is her dining Italian tours. That would be magnifico!!

Our wife’s made us go and we totally enjoyed! What an entertaining evening from beginning to end! Both Gina and Stephen were entertaining and accommodating. The lesson in preparing Italian cuisine was perfect!!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The entire dinner experience is unlike any regular restaurant. From the time you enter the door, it is as if you are visiting your Italian aunt for a family dinner.

So we made reservations for here and had a two month wait. Sure one month the owner was out of country. We heard great things and wanted to try it out. We arrived a tad early and a few guest were there already but they had a glass of Prosecco for us while we wait. Then the owner/chef came out and told us what to expect . They do family style service and it's pre set menu. The only thing extra is wine which they have a decent selection. We sat at a table with 8 others for our meal. And we got to talk with the other guests while we were eating a several course dinner. While the food was good it was more country fair than high Italian fare. Be prepared for that and you won't be disappointed. All the courses from the opening cheese and meat course to the dessert was good. I just don't know if it was worth the wait and price.

There are places where you go for the food only and then there are places you go where the food is enhanced by the experience. For me, At The Italian Table is such a place. If I were to judge this place solely on the food, it is very pricey for a 4 course meal. It's reasonably priced at $65 a person, but after taxes, 2 Italian sodas, and gratuity, a meal for two came out to be close to $170. The food is good but not $170 good! But the dining experience is not just food alone: it's the warmth of the Chef Gina and her staff as they welcomed us into their kitchen; it's being transported to a cozy Italian home right in the middle of the city; it's the unique opportunity to share a meal with complete strangers and walking away feeling more connected to your fellow human beings. For all these things, my meal was worth every penny. When you reserve, you won't know what's on the menu. But Chef's Gina staff called ahead and make sure there is no dietary restrictions. I can't name everything we had that day (pictures will have to do), but it consisted of a soup dish, lasagna, pork (with a salad and roasted potatoes) - served family style, and dessert. The food was good and the portions are just right to leave you happily full. Except for the welcome drink, you'll have to pay extra for any additional drinks. Just a few tips: Reserve at least a few weeks ahead at www.attheitaliantable.com. Dinners are at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Plan for dinner to last around 2 hours. There are two long tables, so I think they can accommodate around 20 people each dinner.

Communal table - like or not this is what you get 10 seats around one table then another 10 seats around another table 20 seats total - like the Eagles song I thought this could be heaven or this could be hell... The wine starts, a wonderful rose starts us out very nice wine outside before we could go in to our seats - ok it eased the pain of communal table. We go in with our wine sit down here I am me and the three other people I went with. I though this is going to be so crowded, I'm not fond of crowds, it wasn't it was nice plenty of room we tip our glasses to the table and start Ordered more wine that rose Stemmari sustainable farmed Sicilian wine (I looked can't find it in Louisville) Salad started us out tasty greens with a vinaigrette and shredded zucchini very good idea and very tasty. We started talking around the table Christopher a St. X junior and a scout there with his mom and dad brought their friends from Cincinnati with their daughter Tabatha two of the nicest families you would ever want to meet - total delight Next we had a little hit of marinara and spaghetti excellent would love the recipe for the marinara was perfect Then on to the garlic shrimp like scampi but not in sauce along with a red pepper risotto another perfect dish, I'm not lying it was fantastic Then on to final dish of the evening - dessert berries cream and a sponge good finish But I was still hungry my wife was ok our friends we were there with she was ok and he wasn't so it seems lady portions were served Tom and I were still hungry I asked were we could go for a steak - it was a great experience it was a wonderful food but in my mind I thought that a Nona was going to bring bowls of pasta pass around the bring more till you have to unbutton your britches and beg for them to stop bringing food Not like that at all But go it is worth it for the experience great food great time but for guys eat a little antipasto before you go you will be glad you did

I've wanted to eat here since our move to Louisville two years ago. It was a most enjoyable evening. It was like having dinner with my family at my aunt's home in Torino. It is a set menu of courses that were served with enough time in between to savor the food and converse with others at our table. There were ten at our table and the meal was served family style. A wonderful dining experience and I can't wait to return!
