For the last few months I've been disappointed with some pretty ho hum, high priced meals in Louisville. Then last night I had the pleasure of dining with a friend at The Bell House in Shelbyville, KY just outside Louisville. It was the best meal & atmosphere I've experienced in ages. I started the meal with the seafood cakes cooked like crab cakes but with a fine, subtle seasoning. They were short-staffed the day we were there, but you would never know. Friendly prompt service and great food. I really appreciated how nice everything was when I know they were working extra hard to serve everyone. Great place.

I had the Hot Brown and it was fantastic. Our server was great and so was the atmosphere. Make sure you have a reservation and don't arrive over 5 minutes early they don't have much of a waiting area. If the weather is warm I'd guess waiting on the porch would be nice.
