Based on recent reviews, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store at the Brooks exit and I-65 is bringing back the old ways. The food is extremely good, with specific mentions of the chicken and dumplings and the campfire beef, which is tender and has plenty of flavor. Breakfast is also enjoyed by customers. Service can vary, but excellent service is provided by servers like Jerry Reed, who is absolutely amazing, very attentive, and super friendly, showing deep caring for people. Another server, Isabella, is a breath of fresh air, bringing food out hot and fresh and addressing concerns with care. Ashley and Andy are also cheerful and professional, while waitress Sissy is the reason customers return every Sunday. The atmosphere is welcoming, with staff like a cashier who held the door open. However, some guests noted that service can be lacking, and rolls for the table are not always provided. Despite a past poor experience with a steak that did not taste like a New York strip, the management showed empathy. Overall, the restaurant is bringing back the Cracker Barrel customers all remember and love.
