Stella Maris is one of the best spots in the parish. They have a large menu that fuses flavors of the Mediterranean to accommodate all tastes and diets. My favorite is their gyro plate with hummus that is enough food for an entree that it can be shared or enjoyed again with leftovers. In addition to the restaurant, they have a grocery store with all sorts of tea, coffee, candies, and other items from the region plus a hookah lounge. Stella Maris Restaurant & Grocery offers some of the best Middle Eastern food, with a wide selection of food available. The Chicken Shish Tawook plate is good with tender meat, and the Musakhan rolls are fantastic. The chicken shawarma is SO GOOD each time, with cheap and large portions. The mint lemonade is a go-to. The food is always top notch, carefully prepared, and extremely tasty, from the turkish coffee through the whole meal to the baklava for dessert. The place is very authentic, like a hidden gem. The only complaint is that the rice tasted a bit bland and soggy. The attached grocery is great for stocking up on olive oil, labneh, and other fridge and pantry staples, including wonderful tasty local halal lamb inexpensively. The owner is always very friendly and attentive, and the people at this place are part of the attraction. Servers are helpful, pleasant, and attentive.
