Frostop Reviews
Ate here on Nov. 3rd 2025. Was passing through on our way back home to Texas. Food was unlike anything I’ve had before. Crab burger was 10/10 and the Chili Cheese dog as well. And the root beer was a dream come true. Currently planning my trip to LA just so I can eat here again!
The restaurant might as well shut down at this point. The service is horrible and it just doesn’t hold the same value as it once did. The dude at the front counter has a horrible attitude and the food isn’t that good anymore to deal with all the bs.
Best Root beer! Service was fast, friendly, and great, food was hot and fresh. Delicious chicken tenders and cheeseburgers. Onion rings were phenomenal - thin and crispy.

Frostop is a classic diner that has been a staple in downtown Baton Rouge for as long as many can remember. It serves up simple, good food without breaking the bank. While the atmosphere may feel a bit dated and the menu is limited to burgers, fries, and ice cream floats, the friendly staff and tasty food make it a nostalgic eating spot. The root beer, served straight from the tap, is delicious and can be enjoyed as a frosted mug root beer float with added ice cream. The homemade burgers are flavorful, with the Crab Burger being a popular choice, featuring a crispy crab patty on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The service is exceptional, as staff are willing to explain the menu and ensure that orders are prepared correctly. Overall, Frostop is a great place to visit for good food, good service, and cherished memories.
