Highly recommend FISH TACO AND SHRIMP TACO!!!!!!
Our waitress (Alyssa) took care of us. She was attentive and made sure we were good with drinks and our food. The food was delicious and the margaritas were great. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Will definitely be coming back.
I had an amazing experience, and I have to give a special shoutout to our waitress, Aloha! She was absolutely awesome, so friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Her positive attitude and great customer service really made our experience even better. VALS is a restaurant in the Perkins/Essen corridor in Baton Rouge, described as a great destination for elevated Mexican food. The space has petal pink decor, groovy live plants, and a big bar. The colors are well placed, the ambience is not overwhelming, and the space is very relaxing. The staff is awesome, friendly, attentive, and well versed in the menu, and the service made visits great. The food is delicious, fresh, authentic, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The serving portions are huge. Menu items mentioned include the chips & dips sampler, the dips, the nachos, the Elote, the grilled shrimp Caesar, the michelada, and the margaritas, which are freshly made, not from a premix, and the perfect balance of flavor and strength. Tacos include fish, shrimp, sweet potato, barbacoa, a Chicken Tinja Taco, and the Quesabirria, all overfilled and delicious. The menu is not fussy and has many other options, plus a great selection of mezcal. VALS is a must-try in Baton Rouge.
