For many years in Monroe's Garden District, was one of only a few Mexican restaurants, Ernesto's. In it's heyday, going to Ernesto's was kinda like going to the bar in Cheers, a place where 'everyone knows your name.' Iron Cactus takes the meals/recipes as were offered at Ernesto's and moved over into Western Ouachita parish, there in the heart of Calhoun.The food and the environment causes one familiar with Ernesto's to feel right at home!
The Iron Cactus is awesome. Food is 9 out of 10, and the service is great. Very Family friendly and welcoming restaurant. No matter if you eat it there or take it home. It is great.
