I stopped on my way out of town on the way to Houston and got a coffee and beignets. The beignets were tasty as always, but the coffee was SCALDING hot. I took it to go so wasn't expecting that when I was trying to drive and sip coffee.
Beignets we're delish and had some density to them. They are definitely not shy with the powdered sugar, they put a mountain of it on the beignets! They also have a window inside where you can watch them being made from scratch.

Happened to be in Covington and this location is a respite from New Orleans. Early Sunday evening visit was a nice finish to the weekend. Mellow and quiet. Beignets were fresh and light. A bit heavy-handed on the powdered sugar. Decaf cafe au lait was tasty- love that chicory! Service was prompt and friendly. Cafe was clean and tables were bussed promptly.
