The Hampshire is a restaurant in Covington that offers an excellent meal, a love of atmosphere, and wonderful service. The food is phenomenal, and the service is amazing. Everyone in a large group got their meal at the same time, warm. The food is absolutely unrivaled on the Northshore. The counter experience truly makes this place legendary. The Chef's Seats are the best tickets in town for an up-close, high-energy dinner. The Chef's personality is engaging, welcoming, and easily the highlight of the entire evening. The cuisine is flawless dishes that fiercely challenge the South Shore's most reliable culinary institutions. The restaurant has a great wine list; AYALA Champagne shows great thoughtfulness in picking the right wines. For lunch, main dishes of hanger steak and frites, and chicken brouchetta pasta were had. The steak was perfect medium rare and tasty. The frites were very crispy and had a garlic flavor. The chicken had a noticable grilled flavor and the pasta was well seasoned and topped with grated cheese. The summer fixed price menu included lobster bisque (tasty but not hot), steak n crab, and a chocolate cheesecake subbed for the key lime icebox pie. The steak was the star-perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes, asparagus, crab cake and soup were cold. The food is always hot and flavors are on point. The cocktails are also exceptional; the cherry bomb is a must-try.
