My recent dinner at Windrush was a delightful experience, largely due to the exceptionally well-prepared food. From start to finish, the dishes were a testament to masterful seasoning, arriving plentiful and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite was a genuine pleasure, showcasing a clear understanding of how to make ingredients sing.
The only minor stumble came with dessert. The beignets, while undeniably hot and fresh, would have benefited from a more generous dusting of powdered sugar to truly elevate their sweetness. A small personal preference, but I also would have loved for them to be served concurrently with my ice cream, as I had envisioned combining the two for a delectable hot-and-cold treat. Perhaps next time, I'll request this timing specifically.
Service throughout the evening was impeccable. Our waitress was a standout, proving to be both attentive and remarkably rapid in anticipating and fulfilling our needs. Her efficiency and pleasant demeanor truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
Despite the slight dessert quibble, the outstanding main courses and excellent service make Windrush Village Marketplace a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a truly flavorful and satisfying meal. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!”

“Being from out of town, this was our first time eating at this café. When we went in, we were the only ones there, as they were closing in 45 minutes and apparently they really didn’t want us in there! The person behind the counter was very rude, and did not help in the selection of our sandwich meats or breads, as we did not know we had a choice. She then got even more frustrated when I asked for my receipt after I paid with my debit card! The sandwiches we ordered were very good, except the pulled pork sandwich, which my husband had, was cold in the center. He did say it tasted good, but was cold, and it was supposed to be a warm sandwich. Even though the food was good, the service was so terrible that if and when we ever return to this part of Louisiana again, we will be sure and not go to this café! There’s got to be other food places that would appreciate us coming in and treat us like they were happy to have us come in their eating establishment!”

“I love this family owned restaurant and grocery store! I get all my meats here for the week and always grab a spaghetti too! The staff is so kind to me and the kids. I even had a staff member bring my food to my car to make it easier on the kids! Fantastic food, service and amazing atmosphere! 10/10! Love it here!”

“I took a long time to decide on writing this. I wanted to be fair. Compared to the pre-Covid bar it’s improved so much. The pool tables are new. I have yet to try any food except popcorn. We play there on Wednesday nights and the kitchen never seems to be open. BUT the bartenders and wait staff are so much nicer than the group from 2019. If you want a clean place to shoot pool this is great place come. Not fancy not youth oriented. Just a nice place to have a drink shoot pool and have good time.”

“Rain affected the food being ready due to wet wood but the owner Greg fixed us a complimentary plate for the road trip to hold us over.. Traveling from Waxo to Baton Rouge. He was so kind, giving and food was so delicious and asked nothing in return.

“Wanting to try something new we drove from Benton to finally try this restaurant. I'll start by saying overall very impressed. The portions are much larger than expected and the prices are very reasonable. We dined in on a Saturday afternoon not realizing there was a limited weekend menu, although we were able to find many items to choose from and they didn't limit it to just brunch like other restaurants I was disappointed to not have the full menu. Don't let that stop you from dining because this is a great place and the food was wonderful! Our table had fried pickles, firecracker shrimp and the Cobb salad. Only mistake we made was ordering too much! Service was great and we got seated immediately.”

“Service was professional, ordered a Midtown turkey sandwich with Dijon mustard and avocados. Melt in your mouth deliciousness. Made fresh and to order. Chips were a kettle style chip, plain flavor, but crunchy and tastes awesome. Glazed donuts and hikes a must to have the best donuts location with a great coffee place. Price was reasonable with the amount of food received. Sandwich good. Eat fresh and live longer. No fountain drinks except what's in a glass bottle, but ask for ice cup or refill you bottle with water that is filter on sight.”

“Just tried Marco’s Pizza for the first time. The staff was cool, and our pizza came surprisingly fast, still hot when we got home. Toppings, like bacon, ham, sausage, and pepperoni, were tasty, but the dough was kinda bland. Thinking of giving them another shot to try a different flavor though!”
