“Delicious food and nicest people ever!“

“I mean... does it compare to Texas Q? Absolutely not. Is it better than the big guys in Shreveport? Absolutely. The ribs are WAYYYY overcooked and need a lot more seasoning. The brisket needs more pepper. The bark on the brisket is nigh non-existent.

The sides though? Best jambalaya I've had at a BBQ joint. Not even close. The mac, however, needs Jesus and a lot more cheddar cheese, though the noodles are great, and the texture of the cream cheese is refreshing.

If the brisket had more seasoning and was wrapped in butcher paper instead of foil, this would be great. If the ribs weren't cooked to oblivion, broiled in tin foil for an hour longer than they should, and had more seasoning, they'd be great. If nothing else, the seasoning is awesome. It just needs as much love as they show their jambalaya.

I'll definitely be back, though. I'll chop up my visit as just a bad day. The folks are great so I want to support them!“

“This was our first time coming to his establishment. Good food and vibes. The owner was so nice and let us sample his chicken salad.(Yes , you need to buy you a bowl) We also purchased the ribs, so good. Actually the word good doesn’t do justice. Awesome!!!! We will be back too.“

I went here tonight and got the three meat plate - Brisket, sausage and hot links with double mustard greens as the sides. Btw, be careful the serving sizes are huge. “Showed up before he opened, we didn't know that the place had hours or anything. The owner was gracious, served us despite not being fully opened for the day. The pork sandwich was AMAZING!!! The sauce was delicious and you could tell it was homemade. While we were there, he gave us a sample of the brisket, and it was also AMAZING. If you are in the Stonewall area on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday then you have got to give this place a try. It is sooooo worth it.“

“This was my first getting to try this place as their hours are limited but I was satisfied and will go back. They were out of mac and cheese so I wasnt able to try that and got a regular rib plate. The bbq beans, potato salad, bbq sauce (you’re given one but I asked for an extra) and meat were very much to my liking. I do wish the meat had been hotter with heat for a true fall of the bone experience and not just warm (reason for the 4/5) but I cleared the plate nevertheless. “One of the best BBQ lunches I’d had, ever. Fall off the bone, well seasoned(perfectly actually). The layout, as far as seating and menus and ordering and such was a little confusing but we figured it out. Besides, if the food is great, I’ll eat there again and again. I ordered the 2meat, rib and brisket plate with slaw and Mac n cheese. (The pic included was half of what the meal consisted of. (Had to take some to the wife) Meat didn’t even need the sauce (but it was amazing as well). Got to express all this to one of the cooks on my way out and I could tell that he really took pride in my beyond satisfactory experience. Thank you for the good memories!“

“If you are ever in Shreveport, Louisiana, I highly recommended stopping by Howard’s Roadhouse BBQ & getting some of the BEST bbq that I have ever tasted! I've eaten bbq literally in 27 different states & this is the best I've had. We got chicken wings, brisket, ribs, baked beans, dirty rice & potato salad & each & every bite was amazing! “I was leary to try this one because the Podnuh's that was close to where i used to work wasn't that great. I've been working in this area for almost 2 years now and this is the first time i tried to go to Podnuh's. Country Tavern has been shut down and i really wanted some BBQ.Long story short. SO GOOD! I got the chopped brisket sandwich with potato salad and baked beans, sweet tea and a side of cobbler. Everything was so very good! “We had a birthday party there last night and everyone was so nice. They say us at the time of our reservation once half of the party showed. They held the table as long as they could because people were late but they accommodated us well. Food was great and service was great especially for a large party. Highly recommend.“
