Only option was veggie or chicken pho today. Pho comes with a white baggie of a few leaves of basil, cilantro, 4 pieces of jalapeño slices and cilantro. Pho had a lot of noodles, chicken, kale and I said no mushrooms. Pho was bland but they have hoisen and sriracha to add. For a bowl and a soda it came out to $25.
The veggie pho was serviceable: tasty eggplant, greens, mushrooms, and noodles in a fine, forgettable broth. But the service deserves a shout-out. Brook the bartender saw my sad face when she informed me that I couldn't get the pho at 9 a.m. Then she went into the kitchen and convinced the chef to make it for me early. I was on a long flight delay, and the nourishment (and kindness) did me good.
As a regular of the original location I was extremely disappointed by the airport Mopho. The restaurant was severely understaffed and it took 70 minutes to get a bowl of Beef Pho and my check. The pho itself was a much smaller bowl than what is usually served. Very little meat in general and the meatballs were not the regular ones. They were coarse and grainy with far too much seasoning inside them but had them been roasted and dried out before being dropped on top of my noodles....
