Tastes like a TV dinner scraped onto a plate and microwaved to oblivion. When we pointed this out to the manager he simply boasted about how well loved the place is instead of addressing the issue of very poor food quality. The whole place is a dimly lit mess with shoddy decor. The food is insanely overpriced for basically being the quality of Alpo. We each ate less than 10% of our meals and were still charged full price for a meal that should be tried for crimes against humanity. I have no idea why anybody eats here or how it possibly has a single positive review.

My husband and I finally got to try this place today after moving to the area. Needless to say we were not impressed. The service was AMAZING and that is where my praise stops. The chips were tostitos, the salsa was Pace, the beans tasted like they came from a can. My husband was also disappointed as a restaurant in south Louisisana Sweet Tea was not available as an option. I had the Taco salad, it was $14.50 for a slightly larger side salad with meat that was barely seasoned and tostitos chips layered at the bottom. I got some sliced avocado on the side and it was even ripe so it was hard and not good. My husband had the Chimine Changa and it was very middle of the road for slightly over $20. For our 2 dishes it was $50 for food that is done better at Taco Bell. We won't be back even despite the service.

My wife and I went during the week after the lunch rush, and it was fantastic! I have only ever gone during the busier dinner rushes, and they are absolute champions of service at those times, but it was so nice to enjoy during the quieter time as well (by no means was the place empty). It was an opportunity to see the artistry and architecture styles on the walls of a landmark restaurant that I've been to since a child( now 45). The service was quick and courteous. The food tastes like the best first date you have ever had.

First time here and I will be back! Our waitress Sammie was great! I took one star off for the lighting. Very dim and it was a little hard on my eyes. All the food was delicious! No tv’s, so it was a nice place for a conversation. Smoothest frozen margarita I’ve had.

This is my first time here, and I probably won't be back. We were seated right away & our waitress was really attentive & sweet. However, I was not impressed by the food. For the price, it seemed like the quality was lacking. The chips, salsa, & bean dip all tasted like Tostitos (color, consistence, and actual taste). I was pretty surprised by that. We ended up getting beef nachos only because of timing (service seemed to slow down as the night went on), but it was simply chips, shredded cheese, (not a lot of) ground beef. & jalapeños. The price was $15 for that. We ordered large margaritas that were the size of small ones in the majority of other places around the area. Overall ok, but nothing that is outstanding.

The food was good. I had the 1/2 shrimp stuffed avocado salad and a taco salad. The atmosphere was great but I’m giving a 2/5 overall because of the service. Our server Kareem was alright, didn’t check on us much and DID NOT let me know that adding steak to my taco salad was going to be an addition $21.95…. I did tell him I was ok with an up charge for adding steak to my taco salad BUT I was not agreeing to an additional $21.95 for a taco salad that only cost $14.50. Probably will not be going back because of this. I am a bartender at another local restaurant in Lafayette and anytime an up charged item exceeds $8.00 I always confirm that up charge is ok with the customer. Very disappointed with this.

Tex Mex for sure. Ordered the Granada and the one cheese enchilada was stuck to plate and foil of beef taco, which was mushy the taco shell on bottom because plate was too hot, beans had too much salt and Camino seasoning, Spanish rice was bland. For price if you expect Tex Mex bland better going to Pedro's, la pagua, which is not better but a little cheaper not by much. Too much money for bland run of the mill Tex Mex, when in actual San Antonio TX for same meal half the price and double the size meal. Won't go again. Service however was great, attentive waiter. Wish everyone had their waiters demeanor and attentiveness.

We ate lunch, arrived a little before 1 pm (lunch closes at 2 pm, reopens later for dinner). Missed the lunch rush-nice! I live out of state and was last there about 1.5 years ago. Ordered the #1, enjoyed it (the prices are higher similar to most eateries) but I was disappointed in the tortilla chips. Seems the brand changed and they taste like those off the grocery store shelf-they used to taste like nice deli chips. Otherwise, the atmosphere was what it's always been-attractive and clean, attentive table service; a simple menu providing the dependable flavors we've had across the decades. A local tradition restaurant (TexMex) with a small bar, established during the hey day of oil company business lunch accounts, and long before taquerias and chains moved into Lafayette. Enjoyed by locals across generations.

Parking: Ample parking in front of and behind the building.

Stuffed avocado with your choice of stuffing is delicious! Margaritas are always good. Flan for dessert is also good. Roy our young waiter was exceptional.

The fried chicken is the best ever. The kabobs and pork chop awesome. And stuffed avocado. Service: depends who you get. Some are clearly tired of working there.

Went on a weekday 30 minutes after opening- saw open tables and what seemed to be plenty of staff but yet waited ONE HOUR to be seated…..then once seated our waiter was very pleasant but was obviously focused on one table at a time food wise.

We ordered and another hour passed. My kids ate chips…and we were lucky to receive an appetizer in that hour, but our food never came. They were not slammed, we got numerous drink refills…..

The owner walked by so many times I cannot count but never once smiled, said hi, and ever pushed an extra chair up to our table without acknowledging us.

We left and our food was still not done.
2 hours- not a full place and food is mediocre at best if you do happen to get it.
