We made reservations with Taylor for Brunch on Sunday because we were so impressed when we went for lunch the day before. She is the best waitress! Our food was off the chart delicious ,10+rating. My favorite place in downtown Lake Charles.

Had Taco Trio to try different tacos--Baja Bourbon Fish Tacos were a favorite, but regular fish and carnitas are tasty as well. Great service, cool rock-n-roll/tex-mex/voodoo decor.

Cool little Cajun/Mexican joint. We had the boudin/shrimp quesadilla, 3-taco special (chose 3 of their signature tacos), and the bread pudding. All of it was amazing (No, the cook didnt help himself to my quesadilla--I took a bite before i remembered to take the pic!). There was literally so much steak in the steak taco it was falling out! Cool vibe atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Definitely somewhere you should try--even frequent if you are local.

After much research, I ordered the large gumbo from here last night, ensuring myself that the 4.8 stars they have on google guaranteed me satisfaction. Their large gumbo was supposed to be 32 oz. I had been working on my house all day and needed a good, fairly quick supper. I called the order in around 6:25 pm, and scheduled the pick up time for 7 pm. I arrived at 6:55 with my chihuahua and an appetite. Food wasn’t ready, so I sat down at the bar. After waiting 30 more minutes, the food finally came out. The bill was 33$ for a large gumbo and chips with queso. I tipped 5$ on top of that even though I waited a half hour. I got home, opened up my long awaited for prize, only to find a cup of broth with maybe 5 sausage slices and not even one piece of chicken I could spoon. So I drank the broth over rice and went to bed hungry. Definitely will not be recommending or eating here again. It’s a sad day in America when a working man can’t even get a supper for himself anymore with 38$.
