Austins Seafood & Steakhouse

Upon arrival, it was disorganized. There was no host stand, and guests were lining up with no direction. A host came over and asked if I had signed in. I was confused because I hadn't been told to sign in; apparently, you have to call to make a reservation and I did that days ago. I told him my name, and he seated us. After that, our server rushed us, hurrying with drinks and taking our order. It was annoying to have him check in every couple of minutes, making it hard to have a conversation. When he asked how the food was, my date mentioned the fried green tomatoes and crawfish dill sauce could've been better with more sauce. The server's response was that we should've told him to bring more, but we had mentioned it when he asked. The presentation was also off, with the fish on top of my sides looking unappealing. Also, the restaurant was extremely dark but I did enjoy the photos of Ray Charles and BB King.. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially since I had chosen the place for our date.

The best experience and the food is amazing

Parking is ample and you're likely to be seated quickly. Reservations help for large parties.
The service was spectacular and my reccomendation from the waiter was great. It was the best Turtle Soup Ive had in the city and the Veal was tender and the Seafood/Spinach dip was great. They have a good wine and cocktail selection and a piano bar.
They dont split checks,but they can charge multiple cards for one large party,just ask.
The outdoor seating might be more pleasant in the cooler times of year.

Excellent white tablecloth steakhouse with perfectly cooked steaks and sides. Made to order martinis are alone worth going here for. Quiet enough for a business dinner w/o being so quiet you think you're in a library.

The best restaurant in Metairie! Delicious food, great service, wonderful drinks, and nice atmosphere. 10/10 always. And they were so kind on my birthday to surprise us with cake and wine. Really top notch place. The bourbon pork chop is second to none.

Visited Austin's on the Friday before Father's Day. Everything about our night was perfect. The appetizers looked so good, we got 5 for a table of 4. Destroyed them all. The crawfish eggrolls, paneed oysters, and seared ahi tuna really stood out. Entrees were also amazing. Veal and seafood pasta, grilled double-cut pork chop in maple glaze, and seafood pasta were all on point. Service was outstanding and attentive. Jose could tell we weren't in a rush, checked on us frequently, and just let us have our fun without rushing us in any way. In a city with so many outstanding restaurants, this is still one of my go-to places.

Sometimes has a reasonable wait; in my opinion a reservation is a must for the best experience. Food is usually a standout; I would put it up against the Ruth’s Chris of old before they sold out to Darden. If you are headed to town, the location may fool you, but you won’t be disappointed. Steaks and Seafood dishes are fabulous!!

My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our 11th anniversary, and it's was a wonderful experience. The restaurant was romantic, and the service was top notch. I ordered the filet with potatoes au gratin, and my husband ordered the NY strip with baked macaroni and cheese. Next time we will choose lighter sides since it was all pretty rich, but it was all delicious. I ordered a Cosmopolitan from the bar, and it was perfect. We will definitely go back for our next date night. Excellent experience.
