Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

First time here and it was AMAZING! Hot, fresh, perfectly crispy outside and still juicy chicken. Mac and cheese and potato salad was spot on. Tried sweet potato pie for the first time and took our servers advise and had it warmed....wow. portions and sizes are perfect, I didn't feel stuffed, but satisfied.
Staff was prompt and very friendly. Thank you for a great meal. We will for sure be back when we visit the area again and want to try one of the locations they have in Houston.
Definitely worth the bragging rights!!!

Some of the best fried chicken around the country. Consistent for the chain, never disappoints, but don't order the sides expecting to be blown away. The chicken is crispy. juicy, and seasoned great always.

Friendly and attentive staff. Very clean. We ordered dine in and to go plates . Fried chicken at its spicy finest. The plastic cups are a great souvenir. Ask for specials of the day, great value. Five stars all around.

The chicken is delicious!!! Nikki was the best!!! She was so helpful and pleasant... I loved the coleslaw... My hubby loved the beans and greens... If I ever make it back to New Orleans I'll definitely be back...

When I say everything taste different in Louisiana! The first time I had Gus's was years ago when I was staying downtown for a baecation and couldn't get the flavor off my tongue. I was elated when I found out there are some in Tennessee however when I visited Louisiana again recently and nostalgia set in immediately. The Gus's in Metairie is one of a kind. Baby I don't know who auntie back there making them greens but I know they elbows dimpled and soft as creme. She prolly got a gold tooth too. I went twice in a span of 4 days and will be returning as soon as possible!

I've had Gus Many times without an issue UNTIL today 1/1/2025. I went into Gus for just 2 Legs and Baked Beans . I arrived home and the chicken wasn't cooked throughly. So I decided to call gus and inform them about the uncooked chicken. The manager Said I'm sorry to hear about that , what is it that you want us to do ? I said excuse me due to the delivery of her response so she corrected herself and said do you want a refund or more chicken ? I said I'll come to get my money back . About 5mins later I received a call from GUS stating that My manager said we don't usually do refunds but in order to get more chicken you would have to come back with the chicken and receipt to get More chicken . So with that being said I will no longer purchase chicken from them because y'all mistake don't allow me to get my money back .

Better than Popeyes by a long shot!!! Memphis chicken, the macaroni, potato salad, fried pickels.... truly the best fried chicken I've ever had. Friendly attentive staff and always clean. I highly recommend you give this place a try!
