Every time I’m in the Metairie area, I always pass up Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken. So we decided to try it out for once. The inside is pretty standard, but still neat and clean. The service was pretty friendly. We ordered the Chicken Sandwich combo with a side of fries ($11.05), 4 Chicken Wings ($13.00), and a small side of Mac & Cheese ($3.50). The food was good but nothing special in my opinion. I also felt like everything was overpriced for the size and quality....

I’ll start with the positive: the chicken is very tasty and well seasoned. That’s about it.
The sides were honestly inedible. The cole slaw is loaded with sugar. WHO PUTS SUGAR IN COLE SLAW? And the mac & cheese was like Velveeta smothered on microwave noodles. I tried to eat the sides to not embarrass my dining guest that highly recommended this restaurant, but ultimately had to throw them both in the trash.
I’ll end on a high note:...
