About Duffy's Diner

Duffy's Diner is a family-style place in New Iberia that offers classic "home cooking" meals, delicious burgers, and local favorites like corn shrimp chowder, which is very popular. The cheeseburger is a highlight, reminding many of home-cooked meals. The seafood platter gives you a choice of fries or potato salad, and the shrimp po'boy is a must-try, with lightly battered shrimp inside a crusty baguette. Other options include fried chicken with red beans and rice, and the atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. The staff are polite, even if service can sometimes be slow, with orders occasionally missing fries or onion rings. Despite some delays, many customers consider Duffy's Diner the best sit-down restaurant in the area, especially because it offers local flavors and a nostalgic vibe. The place also has a unique atmosphere that history fans may enjoy, and it's very kid-friendly, with no cursing, drugs, or smoking.

Get the catfish and sweet potato fries, holy cow they're great! I didn't like the crayfish etouffee, but that doesnt mean much considering it was my first experience with the dish. Desserts were great tasting as well. Service was slow, but she was really busy and she was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

It’s a diner. Older, seasoned, with a decently friendly staff and seemingly well run kitchen. I go for the box of fried chicken. Dropped a star due to this last experience, warmish onion rings, warmish burger, red beans were runny and tasted like the brown lysol cleaning product. “New dishwasher.” Chicken is usually fire. Not much today.
