I waited 10 minutes by the hostess table. I got lots of stares but no offers of service. Ouch. Must not have liked my look or something. The food looked ok.

What a terrible experience! The waiter, Levin, told me to 'pump the brakes' when I ordered a cocktail! Who says that??? The drinks came about 20 minutes after we ordered, one person in our party waited 30 minutes. The food, though overpriced, was good but everything was over shadowed by the awful service. And the best was the waiter's response when we asked about the dessert menu, 'well honestly, we're not known for our desserts.' Again, who says that?

Awesome late lunch on a boiling hot day. I'd love to return! I had the fish tacos, watermelon margarita and calamari ceviche. ALL the dishes were delicious. Service was great. Interior is nice without being fancy. Just great all around.

Food is fine, not spectacular but better than some of the other places.

We made a quick stop while on the HOHO bus tour and so glad we did! Had a couple apps (Shrimp Remoulade and Blue crab claws) and their craft cocktails. All delish! Small establishment with a great vibe. Very personal service.

So good! Visiting NOLA for 4 day wedding and stumbled on Basin our 2nd day. Food and service were so good we had to go back on our last day. Shout out to general mgr, Blake, who fit us in on a holiday w/no rez. Service both days was helpful, efficient and friendly. Here's the scoop on the food. MUST have the blue crab claws and royal red shrimp and short ribs w/grits. OMG. Delish. (By the way, one of our party was a hard core New Englander w/years of shrimp eating and he said this was the best shrimp he's ever had.) Crab beignets, gumbo and soft shell crab also very good. Service was great both days (a little in the weeds on 2nd visit, but it was a holiday and crowded. We'll go back next time we're in town.

We had a dozen grilled oysters that were incredible, the coconut crusted red snapper and the beef short ribs with grits. Everything was amazing. Our waitress, Nicole, was amazing and couldn’t have been nicer. Everything was served quickly. We never waited for a drink. We’re from Oklahoma, but if we lived here, we would be here all the time

We were hungry in the area and wanted to try something different. The service was great and had a full bar. Great collection of wine and my family ordered cocktails. Love the charbroiled oysters and my entree was great. Cozy atmosphere with upscale food.

Extremely unprofessional. After 40+ minutes not even the appetizer had arrived. The servers expressed little concern when alerted, and we left.

Delicious food and super friendly fun service from the people working there. We ordered the market fish special, crawfish Mac and cheese, drum with limas and chargrilled oysters. We left full but not weighed down, everything was so flavorful and would recommend! Restaurant was cozy and warm inside and we ate outside to enjoy the people watching and weather.

stopped by for lunch today and was immediately seated. stacy quickly came over to take drink orders and we began with the bottomless mimosas. stacy ensured that drinks were perfectly mixed just the way we like them! we had crab beignets and catfish fingers for appetizers. each item came out hot and freshly prepared. we followed up with gumbo, the crawfish omelette and a shrimp po boy. all parties enjoyed their food in this restaurant right off magazine street. the restaurant itself isn't memorial but the food and service certainly are, give them a try!

We have been to Basin a few times. So I don't want to say that they are doing a bad job because We have always enjoyed our experience there. Tonight was a bit off. To Start I want to say that the manager & Server (Levin) did everything they could to recover our starter appetizer experience. It came out under cooked twice. When our entree's came out - the short rib grillades looked & tasted good. The crispy soft shell crab with corn maque choux & crawfish ettoufe was good, but not very hot. My salad with fried oysters was prepared very well, the fried anchovies were a bit of a punch in the face salty, yet I enjoyed the salad. They were out of order/about to run out of several beer choices on a Friday night?!?! I wish them luck for the rest of the weekend. I hope everything gets better, because we would like to return for a dining experience that we have been accustomed to in our neighborhood restaurants. Love!!!!
