Chartres House Reviews
My sisters and I popped in for the nachos, debris fries and a cocktail for the second time on our vacation. The first was in November. Chassidy served us at the bar both times and she is an absolute delight. Food is fresh and sooooo yummy. Cannot wait to get back here visit Chassidy and eat some more great food. Thank you for your hospitality.
Were there pre-cruise. Employee coaxed us in with free appetizer coupon. It was 1/9/25. Temp. = 48-50. They would NOT close front door so they could keep outside employee with coupons warm w/ heater. Everyone (50% full) ate with coats/gloves/hats on. Then, they charged us for the FREE appetizer that got us to come inside! We were told they could not refund us for appetizers by management. Finally got that approved but then they had to put all 6 meals on one bill because of refund??!!??...read full review
Can’t say enough good things about this place. We have eaten here several times and we have used them for private events. Excellent food, excellent service. Great attitudes and fantastic servers. While they covered all the bases, I don’t think there’s anything we could have asked for that they wouldn’t have tried their best to get done.

Chartres House is a popular restaurant in New Orleans known for its authentic and lively dining experience. The building has a great flair, and the balcony offers a fantastic view of the city. The food, including dishes like the blackened chicken jambalaya, nachos, and shrimp po' boy, is consistently praised as delicious and well-priced. Visitors also enjoy the Cobb Salad, which is large, fresh, beautifully presented, and offers great value for $22. The staff are delightful and friendly, creating a warm and fun atmosphere, with some staff members seeming to enjoy their work and each other. The service can sometimes be uneven, but it remains overall enjoyable, especially when servers like Jajuan or Rebecca provide attentive and memorable service. The restaurant's unique ambiance, combined with good food and friendly service, makes Chartres House a must-visit for those seeking an authentic New Orleans atmosphere. Many recommend trying the Taste of New Orleans plate, which offers small portions of gumbo, jambalaya, and another dish, perfect for tasting a variety of flavors. The restaurant is a good choice for a relaxed and easy-going dinner away from the busier spots in town.
