I ordered the crab cakes and they were awesome.
The po boy was “Ok”.
The host and the waiter were cool.
I’d give it 3.75/5

This was horrible. Out of lemons. Didn’t have a ramekin for honey. The waitress didn’t even know what I ordered and I had to explain her menu to her. The food was literally reheated Sysco foods prepackaged substances. Hard. Flavorless and cooked without any pride or joy. Same prices as the EXCELLENT Ruby Slippers across the street. Save your sadness and money and just wait the 30 minutes to get a table at a real restaurant. They should be ashamed to serve such a lackluster meal.

An enjoyable experience! From the greeter at the door to the bar tender to the waitress and chef. Each person made an ordinary night into a special night with their smiles and incredible service. The food is to die for. Top off your evening with an amazing bread pudding for dessert! This restaurant is definitely on our “must have” list for our next NOLA trip!

Very rude and dismissive bartender.
Absolutely Outstanding!
We recently dined at Estrella Steak and Lobster House, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch.
We started our meal with the BBQ shrimp and gumbo, both of which were bursting with flavor. The BBQ shrimp had the perfect balance of smokiness and spice, while the gumbo was rich, hearty, and had that authentic taste you’d hope for in a classic dish.
The crab cakes were to die for—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. But the star of the evening was the redfish topped with actual crab meat. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the addition of fresh crab meat elevated it to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Even the mushroom and Swiss burger was a hit! Often, a simple burger can be an afterthought, but not here. It was juicy, savory, and absolutely satisfying.
We can confidently say that nothing we tried was anything less than spectacular. Estrella Steak and Lobster House has won us over, and we can’t wait to return for another amazing meal. Highly recommended!

8/24/24 - 8pm - we are visiting from out of town and wanted to try this restaurant for their steak and lobster. Unfortunately, they were out of lobster tail, but my husband had steak and potatoes with the side of fried shrimp, and I had the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo with added chicken. The food was absolutely delicious. It was very hard to stop eating it. The portions were huge. I am not sure what our servers name was, but she was a very sweet girl who entertained my husband’s sarcasm. I appreciated that.
Highly recommend Estrella for anyone looking for a good porterhouse or some fettuccine.

The server and the bar tender gave great service. But our blacked ribeye ($30) was the toughest meat that I ever had. They did offer to make me something else.

Very good food. Staff seemed inexperienced. Bartender was very slow. Didn't have several items in stock, making it difficult to get the drinks we wanted. Waitress was flustered, however, the food was amazing.

The staff and owner at Estrella is amazing. The atmosphere was happy and inviting. The food and drinks was beyond delicious. As a native from Louisiana currently leaving in Kentucky and down in New Orleans for a convention… I needed a good Creole meal. Estrellas did not disappoint. Their chef is amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for that ‘taste of New Orleans’!

Food was great but the service was even better! Steaks were above average but nothing special. Got the blackened ribeye and it had a slight sour almost lemon note that was overpowering in certain bites. Parmesan butter bread was pretty dry just don’t think the presentation helped the execution of it. Lobster was also overcooked and tough to get out of the shell.
Aside from that though everything else was phenomenal. We shared our food amongst 4 people and the redfish Ameer was possibly the best seafood dish I think any of us have ever had. The sauce was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Red beans and rice and crawfish etoufee were solid as well. The owner was at the bar and thanked us for dining before we left seemed like a very nice guy. Overall we had a very positive experience, atmosphere was very laid back and casual and it was a nice break from the craziness on the streets. Definitely a place we’ll come again next time we visit.
