Love this place! Their hot food is really good. I'll be back!
It’s awesome
Had bug in my food I got a red beans and rice and I had bugs inside of the rice I would never return again worst experience ever and I think the wife of the store short little chinese vietnamese woman she is very racist she made me very uncomfortable with the people that I were with they were black and they didn't even want to buy anything because of the way she was acting towards them never again New Orleans
Plastic in my gumbo spilled everywhere, mashed potatoes tasted like plastic!!! Didn't bother trying the meatloaf dinner I ordered the entire meal went in the garbage!!
every night i dream about this gumbo
Very rude to me , I felt like the wife was racist, roach in my red beans and rice rice was hard ,very unprofessional and very nasty expired chips won't ever return
Wife of the store has very nasty ? attitude, made me uncomfortable, and I had a roach in my food.i won't ever return to this establishment!!!! The snacks I purchased was expired ??Poor hospitality skills need an inspection!!!!! If I could give zero stars I would.
great food, lovely staff
Seriously had no idea what to expect with this Yakamein but every expectation I had was blown out of the water. My first sip of the broth was full of flavorful explosion. I can’t recommend enough. If I lived in New Orleans I would make a trip to get this soup once a week. Absolutely delicious.
Local mom and pop convenience store with a hot bar. Standard fare includes sandwiches/poboys, fried things, rice and noodles, plus ribs. Yakamein is where it's at though. Decent selection of beer, liquor and other snacks, but not a huge variety. Prices aren't a rip off. Closes early though.

A real, New Orleans, soul food experience. The best soul food in the south comes from an immigrant Vietnamese family working out of a sketchy corner store, and this is no exception to that rule. Most things are good here, but be careful with the turkey necks, cuz they'll be hella salty.

Love loving near here. Great, inexpensive hot bar and simple but delicious take out. Bring cash to avoid a credit card fee.
