So glad I chose this jazz hall last weekend during my trip to New Orleans.
I was lucky enough to find a seat at the bar where I had the pleasure of having Garland, the bar manager to keep me company. I absolutely love it when bartenders make time for you even though they are busy!
The drinks were amazing and fun and I discovered that I do not enjoy absinthe. LOL
Mahogany Jazz Hall will be on my list from now on for places to go whenever I get back to town.

Got to see BassX perform here for two sets, which was so fun! A few clarifying tips:

~each set you pay a tip with cash or on Venmo to the band
~the band's set is around 50 minutes...expect to pay the band twice if you stay for two sets (you can tell it's a set because the band will take a break)
~you have to order 1 drink per set
~arrive early (6:50 pm) to catch the 7 pm set and get good seats!
~if you enjoy people watching, sit with your back to the bar so you can watch the people stopping by to peek at the jazz musicians!

Music and atmosphere are phenomenal, however, charging you one drink minimum(per person) as well as an 18% tip on top is a rip off! (one drink and two bottled waters came to $36, with $6 charged tip). If you got money to blow or by yourself this is a go to spot! Otherwise find some place a little more reasonably priced.

The music is amazing, but the guy in the front door extremely rude, short dude with a Mohawk. My wife recorded a video of the band and after the band finish she was playing it back to me excited on her phone, the dude approached us and said are you playing music over my band, and I said she is just showing me a video she took, and the cretin leaned over our table and touched her phone, I told him do no touch my wife and he just left. This is absolutely non acceptable your staff touch guest. Left and never will be back

Expensive drinks, awkward bartender, automatic tip included on bill. $52.40 total for two bloody marys - Very overpriced drinks. It's a nice place, but not $22 a drink nice.

An incredible spot for live music! The jazz was phenomenal and the space has so much character. I also really appreciated that even though it’s a classic cocktail hall setup, the staff is super accommodating and they have great drink options whether you are looking for a fantastic cocktail or an excellent alcohol-free beverage. The seating is intimate and the service is fast. Highly recommend dropping by!
