Coming from Charleston we are spoiled with how good the food is, in many places. While New Orleans has so much food opportunity. This was the best food/meal I’d had in the city.

We chose to come here because of the great reviews we read. The food was good for Chinese food in the south though still not worth what we paid at all. The problem was when our party announced a severe food allergy to mushrooms. The server was nice but very nonchalant about it. We asked multiple times to not put said food in any of the dishes except for 1 dish which the person would not be eating. 3 dishes came out with it. Even the fried rice which I have never had mushrooms in fried rice so that blew my mind. Then when brought to their attention we were told "ok but you didn't eat the mushroom right". Food had to be sent back and it was a mess. Fast forward a couple hours and my friend is in the ER with her throat closing. I'm upset because my friend could've died and they didn't take this seriously. Not only that but if they couldn't accommodate for this food allergy they should've said something and we would've went somewhere else. Oh but they had no problem charging the entire amount even the dishes with the mushrooms. I'm just mindblown.

Came here last night in a group of four and had a really good time, one of which had been before and suggested it. We ate family style and the food was so so good, with great service to match. We had steamed dumpling, green beans, eggplant, squid and a couple other things and it was the perfect amount of food. The pacing of the food was perfect and never crowded the table since we finished each delicious plate quickly. Again, the service was so good, attentive but not too much, just right. I even think I saw the owner walking around and talking to tables and seemed like she hugged some regulars at one point. So cute! We thought it was going to be pretentious and bougie being on Magazine but it was a chill comfortable atmosphere. Definitely will be back!

The food is absolutely delicious. We had sesame chicken, mushu pork, vegetarian egg rolls, dim sum, crab Rangoon. Ordered take out. If you want to eat at the restaurant it is best to get a reservation. The restaurant was full on a Monday night which is typically not a busy night for restaurants in New Orleans. This is my first time eating Miss Shirley's food. It's great.

Well, well, well… the place is packed for no reason. The rice with chicken, beef and shrimp had literally 2 pieces of each in it, the rest was rice. The sweet and sour chicken were very few in the portion… in egg roll the shrimp wasn’t cleaned…had the black line still on it.
Service wasn’t wow either, my rice was never brought to me and the meal was coming out separately so I sat there and watch my husband eat and then he did the same with me.
It wasn’t horrible but definitely not worth our money.

Been meaning to come here after so many recommendations and my only critique is that I waited so long! Don’t sleep on Miss Shirley and this menu! And shout out to Gabby the bartender! Will be coming back here at least monthly if not more ?

Miss Shirley's is one of my favorite spots in New Orleans, and I find myself coming back often! The food is always delicious, and Miss Shirley herself goes above and beyond to make sure you’re well-fed – she even throws in a little lagniappe, a special touch that makes every meal feel extra special.

On my last visit, Erisa waited on our table, and I can’t say enough good things about her service! She’s incredibly attentive and always has a smile on her face, making the dining experience even better.

Whether you're a local or just visiting New Orleans, I 100% recommend you stop by Miss Shirley’s. The hospitality and food are simply top-notch!

Just had the best dinner and service of my life. Great place to go with a small group of good friends. Plenty of sake and dim sum.

Such a happy environment and the best food and the best service!!

Kid-friendliness: Came with a 2 year old and it was great! Miss Shirley came and was so sweet with her; and since it’s a louder environment no one minded her talking!

Went on a busy Saturday night around 730 pm, sat at the bar. Was so loud, you couldn't even hear each other talk. Ordered dragon dumplings, and orange chicken. Presentation of dragon dumplings 10/ 10. Taste was good, but dumpling dough was super thick. Orange chicken was good. Just a hint of orange, so it wasn't over powering. Miniature beignets for dessert. I'd eat here again.
