Out of towners & loved this restaurant. We had a family of 7 & they were amazing. The food, server, chef & the drinks were 10/10. Even the chef came out to introduce himself. Great experience. If you don’t do anything else please try the BOWWOW punch lol.

The "Over the Top" wedge salad didn't even have a whole strip of bacon on it, the blue cheese was non existent and the salad dressing wasn't even as good as Kraft.

After visiting the NOLA Aquarium, my sister and two brothers impulsively jumped on a Canal Street streetcar. We were all hungry so I asked the streetcar driver for a recommendation that was on the route. He said, "On one condition." "What is it?" "If you bring me some chicken fingers!" Of course, I agreed and he told us to cross the street and walk one block to Neyow's. He warned us, "It's Mother's Day. You may have a longer wait." Well, he wasn't kidding. Neyow's was packed and the wait was 55 minutes. I live in Atlanta and refuse to wait at ANY restaurant for more than 20 minutes. There are too many other options! And this NOLA neighborhood was no exception. The hostess told us to try Neyow's Steakhouse right next door! In the next house we walked into a narrow, blacked out staircase. Once I found the restaurant door I had to wait a several minutes before someone appeared to greet us. We had arrived during the brunch to dinner change over and while transition wasn't very smooth and we had to wait several minutes to be seated, but we were rewarded for our patience. My sister ordered French toast of all things. To me it was a bit pale, but my sister said it tasted great. One brother ordered the pork chops. Tasty pork chops so tender you could cut them with a spoon! My other brother ordered the catfish fish and grits with a brown sauce (sorry didn't get the name). He couldn't believe how good it was. I'm typically a red beans and rice girl, but I ordered gumbo. Wow! It was so rich and flavorful. I could have used another scoop of rice, but it's absence didn't diminish the satisfying flavor. We left the restaurant satisfied and happy. On our trip back I was hoping to catch the helpful streetcar driver to thank him. Tap into the streetcar drivers' intimate knowledge of the city and ask for a recommendation on your next NOLO visit. I can't wait to try Neyow's restaurant on my next trip.

Simply incredible. Flavorful everything!! The appetizer wing to the fried chicken to the Mac n cheese and Cornish hen (fried also). Just ridiculously great flavor.

Steak was absolutely nothing to write home about, and not quite cooked to order. Caesar salad was terrible. Fried oysters were pretty dang good honestly. Gumbo was trash, it would have been fine but the shrimp were severely overcooked and that and the crab did. It taste fresh at all, the sausage in it is garbage. It's ugly inside, but that's just personal preference I guess. Bloody Mary was super uninspiring. And in a completely empty restaraunt except for one other table, they sat us directly next to that table, it was jammed too close and uncomfortable for both parties. Avoid.

I was excited to try this place for date night however we left disappointed. First off the service was terrible. We never received any bread or the appetizer we ordered. Our steak was served lukewarm and my side of asparagus was cold. I had asked my server 2x for a refill he took the cup and never returned with the drink. I am unsure if he was inexperienced or just having a bad night. I will say the ambience was nice. I had high expectations for this place considering we love the place next door but this was a NO for us.

I enjoyed the restaurant but…. The stuffed shrimp we good but a bit over cooked. The Mac and cheese was terrible mushy appeared to be spaghetti noodles not elbow. Carrot soufflé - absolutely delicious and the dressing was fantastic. You have to have the bowowow juice. My waiter was terrible too but in the end I adjusted to his nonchalant attitude When I asked what he suggest - he said he doesn’t do that. I laughed his comment off as mean old man. It was funny but… still a little disenchanting consider southern hospitality. One of the other waiters help me with food selection-friendly young guy. I did not like the banana pudding- it was a large serving- firm -blah.
