It’s certainly not the worst place I’ve stayed, but not the best. This hotel is absolutely what I would say was a victim of its location. It has great bones but there are so many missed opportunities for greatness, all because people will stay in less than grand hotel to be in close proximity to the French Qtr. Oskar Oyster Bar is a must-visit spot in the French Quarter area. During happy hour, enjoy fresh and juicy oysters shucked right in front of you. The chargrilled and raw oysters are amazing, along with delicious sweet potato fries and collard greens. Indulge in a thick and flavorful Bloody Mary or try their excellent cocktail selection. Even during busy times like Mardi Gras, the alligator bites, chicken and waffles, and char broiled oysters do not disappoint. The restaurant offers a comfortably casual atmosphere with very good food and great service, which is a welcome surprise. Customers have praised the grilled oysters and the overall dining experience, with the bartender Kiki making the night special for some. However, one reviewer was disappointed with their salad and the limited menu options during their visit.
