“A True Gem in Metairie! I am so thrilled to have finally found a restaurant in Metairie that gets everything right! Velvet Cactus is, without a doubt, a 5-star experience from top to bottom. In an city where customer service often seems like a lost art, this place stands out as a shining example of how it should be done. The absolute highlight of our visit was the incredible service we received from Sharon Davis. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure we had a great experience. It was so refreshing to be taken care of by someone with such a wonderful and positive attitude. Sharon is a true asset to the restaurant, and her exceptional service alone is a reason to come back. Of course, the food was just as impressive. Every single dish we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. From the appetizers to the main course, you can tell there's real care and quality coming out of that kitchen. To top it all off, the environment is fantastic. The decor is fun and vibrant, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. We will absolutely be back, and we'll be asking for Sharon! If you're looking for delicious food and service that will leave you smiling, look no further than Velvet Cactus. Highly, highly recommended!“

“We got 'to go'. It was ready on time. Limited parking but easy in & out of lot. Temp of food was warm by the time we got home: maybe 10 min after pick up. Chips weren't in bag but salsa was. Ordered no sour cream but it looked like it was put on food & then scraped to remove it. Flavors r very good, portions r good & food is very filling.“

“This place has a really nice vibe and we loved the Mexican art and collectables. It's quite a large restaurant with various seating areas so you can take your pick. We chose to sit at the bar while we perused the extensive menu. They also have happy hour from 3-5pm with a large Margarita for the price of a small one. I also love that they play only Mexican music which adds to the ambience. If I lived closer I would make this my local.“

“Wild South is the best place to enjoy a cozy, delicious meal focused on Southern cuisine.
We went on a Wednesday night the week before Christmas, so it was slower than normal, which allowed us to sit at the chef's table and get unfettered attention from the staff and chefs. We ordered the 5 course prefix menu, and everything came perfectly timed, and perfectly portioned, to the point where we left satisfied but not overly full. I paired this with their Sherry flight, which allowed me to experience a wide range of styles they have to offer.
The first course was an escabeche-esque snapper, eaten in a rice cracker. The second course was an ode to New England style chowder. Both items were not listed on the menu at the time.
We were interrupted by an intermezzo of uni and trout roe topped chicken schnitzel bites, followed by the vegetable course of broccolini, carrots and peppers, topped with a pumpkin XO sauce, and goat creme fraiche.
The main course was a brined and one-week dry-aged pork chop, with radicchio and sweet potatoes.
Pre-dessert was a refreshing scoop of strawberry sorbet, and dessert was a nod to chocolate mint ice cream, but with merengue and toasted sesame, along with Creole cream cheese custard with strawberries and poached carrots.
Overall we had an amazing time, enjoying our camaraderie with the chefs and staff, and would highly recommend going back and enjoying a meal with friends. We will definitely be back when we return to New Orleans.“
