Jarreau's off the hook

This was an unexpected find! We are driving from New Orleans back home to the Dallas area. My co-pilot adores good Creole and Louisiana food. The place we had wanted to stop at was closed for renovations, so we asked Google what Cajun restaurants were nearby. It's very clean, you order at the counter and they had two tables for inside dining. In spite of it being a seafood restaurant, there is very little odor of fish. Best steak in the area and jambalaya. They serve many things at a reasonable prices. They are local and have a great following. They are active in the community helping out at the local church and other restaurants.

Holy mother of a chicken sandwich! This is a great little place to get take out when passing through the area. It's small and only has two tables, so I think it's better-suited for take out. You can also get food/meats out of the freezer to take home. They serve salads, but do yourself a favor and (while the salads are probably excellent) indulge a little.
