In my opinion the BEST shrimp po-boys around! We always try to visit every time we come in town. The only downside for us is that they are not open on Saturdays! We are making a quick trip home and we are going to miss out this time!
I've always gotten the roast beef po-boy, but I decided to venture outside of my comfort zone and order the shrimp stew. Now I never had this before, but boy did I eat this fast! Before I knew it, I was scraping the bottom of the foam container. Also the dill potato salad was fantastic, just enough dill sourness and mustard taste. I have has shrimp stew from lake Charles to Morgan city. From Chalmette to Shreveport. You won't find better than at Pirogues Cafe. I was going to go home and cook it today and decided to order from here since I had the baked chicken and dirty rice yesterday... I'm so very happy that I did. Wow. Its better than mine.. Great flavor. Perfect thickness. Lots of shrimp.. And the potato salad. Wow! I can't wait to try the lasagna and other stuff. <3 great staff. Cozy atmosphere.
