Middendorf's Slidell Reviews
We ordered an appetizer, their special thin fried catfish and a kids plate. After waiting almost an hour, all of the tables around us who arrived after we did had all of the same items we ordered at their table. Our waitress was no where to be found. I hope her other two tables behind us who were still waiting to order figured it out sooner than we did! We literally only had bread and water at our table, so we left! Did inform the waitress at the bar (who my daughter swears was...read full review
Subpar food, have been sick for three days and counting from eating here.
First of all I’d like to say I’ve been going here for over 30 years and have sent many there for years and it saddens me to say this !!!! We had reservations for a party of 25 made weeks In advance . Middendorf's Slidell offers friendly and courteous service, with accommodating staff and wheelchair accessibility. The thin fried catfish is a standout, being hot, fresh, and crispy, and is considered the best paper-thin catfish by many guests. The warm French bread with butter and hush puppies are also part of the meal. Crawfish poppers are a tasty appetizer, and the inside dining area is spacious, clean, and provides good portions. The food is great, and service is often praised for being quick and efficient; orders placed to-go are prepared in less than 10 minutes. While most dishes are satisfying, some seafood platters, including shrimp, oysters, and stuffed crab, can be smaller in portion. The restaurant is known for its amazing food at both locations, with many guests loving their thin fish and bourbon choices, and appreciating the friendly service and manager. The place is bright and clean, with some guests mentioning fantastic servers and nice views. Overall, it is a good place to dine, with a great location near the exit, making it easy to visit.
