“Being from out of town, this was our first time eating at this café. When we went in, we were the only ones there, as they were closing in 45 minutes and apparently they really didn’t want us in there! The person behind the counter was very rude, and did not help in the selection of our sandwich meats or breads, as we did not know we had a choice. She then got even more frustrated when I asked for my receipt after I paid with my debit card! The sandwiches we ordered were very good, except the pulled pork sandwich, which my husband had, was cold in the center. He did say it tasted good, but was cold, and it was supposed to be a warm sandwich. Even though the food was good, the service was so terrible that if and when we ever return to this part of Louisiana again, we will be sure and not go to this café! There’s got to be other food places that would appreciate us coming in and treat us like they were happy to have us come in their eating establishment!”

“Rain affected the food being ready due to wet wood but the owner Greg fixed us a complimentary plate for the road trip to hold us over.. Traveling from Waxo to Baton Rouge. He was so kind, giving and food was so delicious and asked nothing in return.

“We went for the first time today. The drive through employee was friendly and greeted us with a smile. I was glad to see no trash all over the parking lot. Our order was fresh. Slight mix up in what should have went in what bag, but that is okay and definitely not a big deal. Definitely will be back again.”

Running up down sidewalk screaming. There were several senior citizens trying to back out to leave and they were getting upset. First time we ever had this experience. Not good look.”

“Best ribs ever! We got the sampler plate, so we got to try the chicken, sliced brisket, sausage, some ribs, and a little chopped beef with jambalaya and beans on the side. All was delicious but those ribs!!! Yum!! Now I'll tell you, don't be alarmed when you pull up, it's an old, old, old place with LOTS of history but they sure know what they are doing! He's been there for 35 years and still going strong. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!”

“My Wife and I eat there quite often for lunch. The meals we have eaten there has always been TOP SHELF DELICIOUS AND EXCELLENT, as well as the SERVICE. I particularly always enjoy their cheeseburgers with fries. Their hamburger steak is delicious too and it is served with homemade gravy instead of gravy out of a package like most restaurants do. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT. OH, forgot to mention, their catfish on Friday is DELICIOUS too, and they serve AMERICAN raised catfish instead of that fish that comes from overseas.”

“Live out of town, been wanting to try there food. Ordered seafood platter Didn't want fries so lady taking order said would give e c tra slaw and tomatoe relish. Got home there was no fries and no slaw and no pickled tomatoes. Seafood had good taste. Ordered muffaleta. Tasted ok but had no olive relish on it. Little things but for price gotta speak of it. .”

My recent dinner at Windrush was a delightful experience, largely due to the exceptionally well-prepared food. From start to finish, the dishes were a testament to masterful seasoning, arriving plentiful and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite was a genuine pleasure, showcasing a clear understanding of how to make ingredients sing.
The only minor stumble came with dessert. The beignets, while undeniably hot and fresh, would have benefited from a more generous dusting of powdered sugar to truly elevate their sweetness. A small personal preference, but I also would have loved for them to be served concurrently with my ice cream, as I had envisioned combining the two for a delectable hot-and-cold treat. Perhaps next time, I'll request this timing specifically.
Service throughout the evening was impeccable. Our waitress was a standout, proving to be both attentive and remarkably rapid in anticipating and fulfilling our needs. Her efficiency and pleasant demeanor truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
Despite the slight dessert quibble, the outstanding main courses and excellent service make Windrush Village Marketplace a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a truly flavorful and satisfying meal. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!”

“I’ve eaten there several times. The sandwiches have been very good and the chicken wings are excellent. The staff to a person is great. They greet you immediately, your order is handled and ready quickly, and each of them are genuinely glad that you are there. This is a real fast food gem!”
