“My first experience in Venice. The marina was not the atmosphere we were looking for. We stopped at another waterfront restaurant but was unable to be greeted and noticed no one else in the place had any food on their table. At Changes… we were greeted at the door, seated immediately by the most gracious host/ owner. We couldn’t even finish our first drink before the biggest, hot plate of seafood got on our table! With such a huge variety of food on the menu, we figured it would take a bit to get our food and were prepared to wait. Everyone in the restaurant was served so quickly and efficiently. Please go see these lovely folks! Homemade onions rings! Yum! 😋”

“Pricing: Check Crawgator’s menu online (via PDF) for current pricing. For the ample portions, we found the prices fair. For 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 3 entrees we paid about $85.

Meeting “n” Exceeding: Each meal met our expectations. The alligator kickers were surprisingly scrumptious; served breaded with ample seasoning. The gumbo was deeply savory which is available in either cup or bowl. The bowl serving is undoubtedly a full meal.
The crawtater is overflowing with creamy shrimp cooked just right. The fried shrimp basket (also avail grilled or blackened) was crunchy and delicious.
The establishment is open seating, and the place was mostly empty on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Our food took a matter of minutes to be delivered in full. The restaurant is connected to Venice Marina, so fisherman hauling in their catches comes with the territory. I
imagine happy hours and Saturday nights are rowdy here.

Room to Refine: The outdoor patio could use a pressure washing. All of our dishes were served on paper or styrofoam dinnerware.

Summary: Crawgator’s delivered on our cravings for bayou cuisine and exceeded our expectations with its ambiance.”
