Hard Country Café Reviews
I think ninety percent of the food is one point at all times. Nice southern choices. The waitresses are extremely friendly and helpful. I've gone here many times and we'll continue to do so.
Food was great, clean and great service!
*this is a restaurant inside a gas station/casino** know before you go in case smoke smell bothers you (we weren't aware of this prior to going)
It was a nice adventure trying this Cafe. We saw a billboard advertisement and decided to try it. The chicken fried chicken was very, very good!! If you have kiddos I would recommend getting them that verses the kids chicken bites (they weren't as tasty).

The Hard Country Café is a cozy restaurant nestled inside a truck stop, offering a hidden gem experience near the Louisiana-Texas border. The chicken fried steak and steak finger basket are standout dishes, made with fresh, not frozen, ingredients. The mashed potatoes and homemade onion rings are customer favorites. The breakfast Quesadilla is a perfect start to the day, and the country fried steak dinner has impressed even the pickiest of eaters. The SW Taco Salad is also a hit. The inside has a country feel and the staff is more than friendly. The food is very good and very inexpensive, with the pepper jack boudin egg roll being different but worth a try. The grilled and fried chicken is surprisingly good. The service is friendly and the soda is great, crisply carbonated and balanced perfectly. The restroom was clean. Located near Vinton, the café is accessible from the LA-109 exit and is worth a visit for those passing through the area.
