“Me and my dad went to get lunch today, and we arrived a couple minutes before closing due to getting turned around on the way there, but the ladies were still so sweet and hospitable despite the time. The owner was extremely sweet to us and so was the cashier, and the food was phenomenal! The onion rings and corn nuggets are perfect! The batter is very light and crispy. I got the BLT, which had the best crispiest bacon I’ve ever had on a BLT; and my dad got the Cheeseburger which was also so good. The patty is real beef and very juicy/tender. The buns were also very soft and it was overall a great lunch experience. They let us eat at the picnic tables outside since they closed, but they still offered their services while cleaning and checked in with us to be sure we were enjoying our food. 10/10 will be coming back and bringing some friends! 🤍“

“Don’t let the outside entrance of the Ugly Cafe deter you. We almost didn’t stop, but we are happy we did. We arrived on a Friday about 6 pm and enjoyed a shrimp po-boy and shrimp basket. We ate in, but most of the locals call in and takeout their orders. It is a busy and popular spot. Our wait person was friendly, efficient, and hospitable!“

“Ms. Rachel was our waitress and cocktail provider. She was so friendly. The hummus she recommended for our starter really kicked off the meal. Her drinks were delicious and refreshing. Her cucumber Gin and Tonic was a sparkling surprise that went really well with my perfectly barely seared Tuna steak with grilled pineapple and jasmine rice with a wasabi honey sauce that could have been drunk. My honey got a steak that was cooked just how we like it: RARE. YUM! NOT TOO SALTY. I hate a good piece of meat that is ruined by over salting. I loved the layout of the outside eating area with all of the flowers and the super groovy music. They had Townes Van Zandt, Merle Haggard, and Tyler Childers playing over the speakers. It is by far the best dining experience I've had in a long time. I usually end up regretting going out and wish I had just cooked at home instead of wasting my money on restaurant food. They get a 100% approval rating for atmosphere, taste, and service! Who knew such a gem was waiting on an out of the blue Louisiana adventure!?“

“Let me start and preface I usually don’t like very saucy shrimp, but I decided to try it here and it was the BOMB. I finished it ALL. It was really really good. All the way to the shrimp, to the potatoes, the sausage, and even the corn and I haven’t ate corn in years. I came in with only 1 other person and we were almost instantly seated. The place may look small but it is a MASSIVE restaurant with Ton of room! There was a quite of few people there, but it wasn’t loud at all. The staff was additionally really friendly and had good manners. I can ensure I will be back!“

“Chicken and Sausage gumbo is a must try!!! Debarge's is truly Cenal's Hidden Gem. If you are a series Jalapeños Lover as I am, don't drive off without having batteries jalapeños slices. There is just something about them peppers that polish off every meal at Debarge's. “I got the Maki Roll Lunch special which came with a salmon roll, spicy tuna, and California roll. Fish was fresh, food came out fast. The issue was that the rice was not sushi rice (usually flavored with sugar, mirin, etc;) but just plain white jasmine rice that was a little bit too dry to be used for sushi. The ratio of fish to rice is also not great, too much rice.
The rolls were also cut into uneven pieces, with some too thick. Honestly I picked off all the rice and just ate the inside of the rolls.

The service was good, food came fast. Large portions. It’s clean inside. I would probably just order sashimi next time.

Salmon roll- 4/5 due to freshness of salmon. Rice sucked.

California roll- 2/5. Rice ruined it. Some pieces too thick.

Spicy tuna roll-1/5. Horrible rice. The spicy tuna also had a weird flavor and was not enjoyable.“

“Yesterday was the 1st time going back to this place in a while due to the poor service we received previously. And I’m here to tell you that the service received last night was absolutely fantastic! Food was hot didn’t take long and the 2 employees we dealt with were both great. We will be back!“
