“My coworker drives from the North Shore for these croissants and I’m glad I finally tried them. I think the almond croissant and regular croissant are very good. The apple turnover was okay. I’m sure the canele is good too, but I think mine was very slightly underbaked. Will definitely come back.“

Met a friend for lunch today and we were delighted all around - loads of fresh ingredients, tastefully prepared - and unusual for a pizza place - healthy in preparation - got their white bean sauce for the veggie stromboli to share and a special watermelon salad to share. “Pizza is awesome! If your going for a whole pie or by the slice. Have slices of Sicilian or regular pizza viewable on the counter, in a hot box to see what they have available. Highly recommend! Staff is friendly and easy to talk to. 6$ for two slices and can of soda can’t beat it!!“

I do have to preface, I work in the service industry, I understand that hiring a training staff is difficult and I’m always patient while people are learning and never short or irritated when a mistake is made. I come here a lot despite the mistakes that happen often. It not the end of the world and it happens, No biggie, but If you point out the mistake made to the (assuming) manager (lady with glasses) you will be met with passive aggression and rudeness.

I pointed out that a drink was missed despite ordering it and she walks up to me and says “here’s your receipt” very snarky and rude and storms off all angry. There it said only “1 cold brew”. I’m very apologetic and say to the lovely person making the coffee (bc the “manager” stormed off) “I’m very sorry but there must have been a miscommunication and I did order two of the cold brew.” At no point did the manager return to ask if I would still like said item, she just brushed me off as if there was absolutely no possible way her employee made a mistake. I walk out after that only to realize they forgot my biscuit. (Which I paid for and was on the receipt she so smugly passed to me and ran away). I had to go back and get.

Turns out, her staff does make mistakes contrary to her dismissive belief. Other reviews on here have echoed the same issues with this specific manager. (Rude, short, dismissive). I hope she has a better day :)“

“Very small place that can't Accommodate more than two customers at a time. Tough on customers during snow/rains with zero provisions for shelter outside.
The pastries are a saving grace, by the way. Nothing distinguishing about their sourdough and other bread varieties though good (slightly expensive). Their flour-free chocolate cake takes the cake for innovation and taste.
If only they would make an effort to combine the coffee shop next door (also owned/leased by clearflour mgmt.) they could customer convenience that bit more amenable.“

“We got the muffuletta sandwich and it was SPECTACULAR! It was a new sandwich for us…the bread was perfectly paired to the style of sandwich and fresh. The meats and cheese were delicious and the olive garnish and herbs enhanced this unique taste experience. We took the sandwich to go but the restaurant was clean and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and fast service.“

“I started going here in 2020 and slowly became obsessed. Best bakery and cafe in Somerville. The vibes of the staff are phenomenal but additionally the food and tea are to die for. “Wait time on a busy Sunday morning was estimated at 20 min but we only waited about 5 min. It was great to see the owner helping out with the work and present walking around saying good morning. The food was amazing! Great unique flavors and very healthy and fresh in quality. I loved that there were options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free and found the menu to be varied-- from crepes to bfast sandwiches to omelets to eggs benedict to stuffed french toast. Highly recommend!“

“Veggie Galaxy is one of my all-time faves and a must-visit when I’m in the Boston/Cambridge area. Tasty vegetarian (everything can be made vegan) comfort food at a decent price with generous serving sizes. Breakfast all day is a huge draw. Most of the sweet items (French toast, pancakes, waffles, etc.) and all of the desserts are vegan as is. The savory items (sandwiches, platters, egg dishes, etc.) can all be made vegan. VG uses Yo Egg for when the dish calls for sunny-side-up or runny yolk and Just Egg or tofu for others. So much on the menu… but if you still don’t find what you are looking for, they welcome modifications. Besides the breakfast-y fare, there are killer sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and apps. Awesome vegan mozzarella sticks and mac and cheese! Fries and nachos that’ll put you into a food coma! The list just goes on and on. Thinking about beverages? Bottomless coffee (organic), vegan shakes and floats, cocktails and mocktails. Finally, if you are into diner vibes (high tops, booths, etc.) VG is also a great place to hang out. Servers are super chill, friendly, and flexible. I’ve spent entire afternoons there, drinking coffee refills, slowly making my way through the generous portions of my meal, and catching up on emails while I pass the time before Ubering to the airport. Have gotten nothing but love and recommendations for (delicious) pie from the staff. I’ll definitely be back!“

Colette Bakery in Melrose has some of the best pastries around! I’m a sucker for chocolate croissants, and the Cho-colette croissant at Colette is so delicious (pro tip, take the croissant home and toss in the air fryer to warm the pastry!)

“Came here around 6-630 on a Friday night and was able to get a seat without waiting. Ordered some takoyaki and edamame for starters which were pretty solid. For udon, we ordered the pork kimchi udon and the sukiyaki udon. Both were really good and I would recommend both. At the end, the waiter poured my leftover noodles in the takeout cup perfectly and I was in awe. Coming earlier around 6 is perfect on a weekend night because when we left there was a line out the door waiting for a table. Definitely would come back again for a hot giant serving of noodles.“

“I ordered my daughters 6th birthday cake from La Casa Del Pandebono and it literally the best experience I’ve ever had with any business. Not only was the custom cake beautiful and delicious, they provided a level of exceptional customer service that I didn’t even know existed. The “Tangled” cake included a beautiful edible gold crown as it’s center piece, and it was packaged separately. Despite my best efforts to handle it carefully, I accidentally broke it the night before the birthday party. I texted the owner asking if he has recommendations for me to reassemble it (knowing it was unlikely, but I was desperate). He immediately responded and asked for my address, letting me know he’d deliver a new one when he closed the store (I live in another town). I was shocked at his generosity and beyond grateful. As an expression of gratitude, a sent him an additional tip which he politely attempted to reject (I wouldn’t allow it…haha). In return, he delivered not only the grown, but an order of birria tacos and an empanada (which I was admiring when I went to pick up the cake) - literally the best tacos I’ve ever had. I cannot emphasize how touched I was by this experience. La Casa Del Pandebono is a rare gem - baked goods that are truly a work of art, and incredible food that is only surpassed by the unbelievable customer service. I will be a customer for life.“

“Amazing Key Lime Pie. I grew up in Florida and this pie has everything I look for. Just enough tartness to provide a smile and puckered lips without being overpowering, but best of all a full tangible creamy filling. Most Key Lime pies fall short with a light wimpy filling that makes the pie feel like all whip cream. This filling is super smooth, creamy, and tart and the whip cream topper has so much yummy vanilla in it. Surround it in a deep crumbly crust.. and Bravo! I could eat the whole thing!“

“We had a fabulous lunch here this past weekend. Best food ever! Thankfully, we also brought home several pastas and sauces. Tonight, we cooked up the jumbo cheese ravioli and tossed them with some of the incredible pesto sauce. It was absolutely delicious! “I am so grateful that a place like this exists. As someone with a severe peanut allergy I can never have baked goods. I also have a severe allergy to peas and pea protein which can be a common pairing of allergies. I did find that there are vegan pastries in the same case that are made with butter that contains pea protein so I didn’t feel 100% safe eating the baked goods. If they were to be more separate or the vegan baked goods didn’t contain peas, I would be here every single weekend. The staff was SO nice and went over the top to ensure I knew ingredients. Highly recommend but with caution if you have a legume / pea allergy like me!“
