“I took my bestie here tonight and had the ABSOLUTE best time!!! The food was amazing (we both use the gluten free menu!!!) the atmosphere was so wonderful and the service was just so beyond!!! Amara was truly one of the BEST servers I’ve ever had-so very kind and attentive and helpful with making everything so perfect and then I believe her name was Camille-came to let us stay longer allowing our wonderful Amara to go home-something I thought was just so very thoughtful & kind-our family has been in the food industry for years and these ladies along with the manager were among the very best I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by!!! 100% will be back and I give this my highest recommendation!!!“

Reservations are recommended and the place was full within the first hour of operation. It can be a little noisy, but that's to be expected for an restaurant that is as popular as Romaine's. “Arugula salad is the best ever! Shrimp cocktail is excellent. The Lobster Guacamole, Spicy shrimp & hummus apps also excellent. Best entrees- Short Rib, Half roasted Chicken, Fish Tacos & their burgers delish. Best desserts: bread pudding - unreal!! & their salted caramel mousse and fresh whipped cream in the mason jar- ( tip may need a cig afterwards)!“

The staff is helpful and friendly. The presentation on the dishes is beautiful. I hope that more people discover this gem in Northborough. “During our recent stay at Fairfield in Framingham, we dined at their in-house restaurant. We were instantly welcomed by Katie, the hostess, so we opted to sit at the bar. She was quick to deliver finely prepared drinks as we browsed the menu. There were several options that kept us undecided but we both agreed on the ribeye steak dinner and were beyond pleased with the quality and flavor of the meal. Katie kept us entertained with quick witted chat and top notch service for us and the (by-now) full bar. Truly needed after a long day of travel!“

“We usually sit at the bar and get immediate service. The bartender last night even remember us from a few months ago. She remembered what we drank. My sister ordered the same as last time and I ordered a slightly dirty Tito’s martini with a special request for bleu cheese stuffed olives. They were perfection! We both ordered the ahi tuna with avocado and jasmine rice. Omg it was to die for. I can’t wait to go back and order it again. “I want to make some suggestions rather than saying I do or don’t recommend this place. I’m familiar with Pepper’s, and I like to support hard-working chefs, especially when they use local farms and vendors. The overall concept of self-service is fine, but I preferred the table service of the old restaurant. It felt a little more closed in, and I also don’t like the paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils. Real utensils were available, though. The salad choices looked really healthy and colorful, and the menu was certainly varied enough. I saw a frittata being served and it was the size of a half piece of pie, though it looked good. My friends and I opted for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, thinking they would be more like upscale comfort food. Two of us had the bacon-tomato version, the other had the mushroom. Since they were pre-made, then popped in a convection oven, they were more like melted cheese on dry, light toast, versus the buttery, golden goodness that makes a grilled cheese what its name implies. The portion was small and the fillings meager. If the idea was to make it a healthier grilled cheese, even a drizzle of olive oil might help. The soup was luke-warm, but tasty enough. We shared a dessert bar, which was delicious, with black coffee, which didn’t taste fresh like it had ben sitting a while. Be forewarned that if you pay by credit card, an automatic 15 percent tip is added, though you have the option to change it up or down, if you happen to notice it. There wasn’t much service involved, and you clear your own table. My portion alone, which included the sandwich with chips, a cup of soup, dessert bar, and coffee, plus added tip came to just under twenty dollars. I would give it another shot, but there is room for improvement. We all agreed that the dining experience was at a grade of about C+. Wishing you success in the future... Hope this helps.“

“Thank you to Bolton Street Tavern who hosted the most beautiful celebration of life. The food was delicious and John and Sharon made sure that each and every guest there was taken care of. The setting was perfect with the beautiful lake in the background. And even the downpour of rain that passed by did not bother a soul as it was all covered. Lovely spot, great food, and most of all amazing staff! If you have not been there you must check it out!❤️❤️❤️“
