Lovely
It's a beautiful space! We arrived around 7pm on a Sunday. We may have missed the food window -- there were some cold sandwiches available upon request, and the bar was closed and all of the syrup bottles were saran wrapped shut.
We stocked up on snacks (chips, popcorn, pretzel, Kind bars, trail mix) and got some juice bottles.
Overall a nice place to relax before your train, but unless you arrive during a meal time, don't expect to get much food outside of snacks.

Comfortable place to wait, but the breakfast was underwhelming to say the least, especially compared to NYC

The Amtrak Metropolitan Lounge - Boston South Station offers a quieter and less crowded alternative to the station proper, with never more than 15 people using the lounge at one time. Plenty of working outlets and tables are available for guests. The lounge and its men's and women's bathrooms are clean and in good repair.
Food offerings are described as very slim, consisting of typical snack food like popcorn, chips, cookies, and fruit bars, with drinks including water, soda, and juice. A machine dispenses hot chocolate and multiple types of coffee, alongside a water and ice dispenser. While the lounge itself is nice, it lacks sandwiches, juices, beer, or wine, similar to the snack selection in NYC's Moynihan Train Hall.
Access to the lounge involves a buzzer outside the doors and ascending about two flights of stairs, with an elevator available but requiring staff assistance to open. Staff are very helpful and pleasant, providing a good selection of snacks and beverages, making it a great place to hang out while waiting for a train.
