Jiro‘s Sushi is a tiny sushi joint in Boston’s Chinatown, best described as “don’t judge a book by its cover.” The place is more for takeout but does have some seating by the window, though a cold draft makes it less pleasant to dine in. Friendly greetings and a chill vibe make it an absolute place for getting a quick bite alone. The quality is consistently fresh, with well-seasoned sushi rice and fresh, flavorful fish served at room temperature. The chef does not over provide the rice. Dishes include spicy salmon and spicy crab stick maki, which are thick cuts, not the typical thin small rolls, and the new Lily Chirashi with an unreal yuzu sauce. The mini omakase box offers pure bliss. The staff are awesome and super nice. This is one of the best sushi places in Boston, a level above other spots, though they can get really busy so recommend ordering ahead.
