“I've promised to myself to stop ordering iskender kebab at every Turkish place I go to. But I'm happy I broke that promise and got it here. Must have been the best iskender I had outside of Turkey. Turkish coffee was amazing as well. Service was great, not pushy but very attentive. Turkish music in the background and right across the street from the Garden.“

“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

“This place is superb. The food was delicious, fresh, tasty, VERY SUBSTANTIAL (one bowl will feed 3!) and a delight. The owner welcomed us with grace and kindness and told us that if it wasn't to our liking, he would make it right. We were gifted Rice Pudding (the cinnamon....oy vey!) and Baklava. Will be back every time I go to Mass General for treatment.“

“The lamb kebab was one of the juiciest, well-cooked lamb I've ever had. I would go back just for this dish! The ground beef kebab is also great. Wasn't a huge fan of the beef tenderloin kebab or salmon kebab, they were both pretty dry. The rice is standard, no seasoning, but the roasted tomatoes were a nice touch. Truly no frills to the point I didn't really enjoy dining in (maybe would've helped if they played some music) but will definitely get the lamb kebab to go in the future.“

“EXCELLENT Lahmajoun. Probably the best we’ve had. Also tried the falafel plate and a spinach pie. Portions are huge! Definitely going back.“

“Best Mediterranean food I've had in decades. Everything was delicious. Couldn't be better. I had the kofra kebab plate, ground beef with lamb, rolled and fried, salad, hummus, garlic sauce and tabouli. Look it up. I'm probably not touching it all the great aspects of it. Every part of it was exceptional, full of freshness and taste, each part distinctive in taste and presentation from another part. Not the usual commodification of Mediterranean food present in most imitative restaurants. So many spots are predictable, bland, food feeling like it sat around waiting to be served and unremarkable in every way. Not here. A full size salad, bright, light tastes with just the right amount of a delicate dressing. Not just the typical hunks of greens and ingredients thrown together with no soul and doused in some soybean oil based imitation. It was not the thick flour pita pocket that despite rips apart when you try to lightly stuff it with your salad or grape leaves or tabouli, despite being the thickness of baseball glove leather. This pita pocket was as thin as it could be, not the chewy baseball glove we usually get, yet completely resilient. It held everything I stuffed into it.“

“This place is a must if you want halal. Excellent choices for middle eastern/Mediterranean style foods, and some excellent sandwich’s including a spicy fried chicken sandwich and a tasty smashburger. The hospitality is overwhelming, service is above and beyond.“

“The food was delicious and the stuff was very nice and very cautious with the virus situation.“

“After quickly sifting in and out of the other overly trendy Brookline Village restaurants the other day, we stumbled (again after 20 years) into Anatolia. Humble, unpretentious, tables filled with friends and families not glued to their phones, we were seated by a lively attentive and excellent waitress. The Anatolian red wine was excellent, the lemon rice soup a nice starter, I like the fried liver cubes (not for my non offal eating wife :/), and the the mantis- little dumplings with a lamb chunk served with yogurt utterly scrumptious. And the ground lamb kebab - it so outclasses the dry bland stuff in many Mediterranean style joints around Greater Boston. Finished with a delightfully light, flaky baklava with just a touch of sweetness and ground pistachios - a nice adult dessert finally! Not a showy place - solid home style cooking. Bring some friends and share lots of plates!“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
The restaurant also offered great value for the quality of food and service provided. Whether you're visiting for a casual meal, a family gathering, or a special occasion, I would highly recommend this place. I look forward to returning and trying more dishes from the menu.“
