I was hoping for a real latte place in East Boston, but was disappointed with Melo's. Ordered a vanilla latte, but it tasted like coffee with some milk in it. Very minimal vanilla flavor and no sweetness at all. We also tried a couple of pastries which were underwhelming. They were dry and didn't have much flavor. The bread was not fresh here. Any of them. The decline of Melo's Bakery is here, I'm not sure if they had a change of management but they became a last resort rather than a destination. Hopefully they will re look at their bread options and make a change.

Stopped by in the early morning for b-fast items while waiting for work on my car to finish. Disappointed that there were no b-fast sandwiches, but there was a big container of freshly made chicken tamales available! So, of course, we got a couple to try. They were AWESOME! Silky soft and moist corn with flavorful chicken and potatoes. Delicious! Who knew? Recommend!
